An oasis from the heat with lacklustre service

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Aug 2023via mobile
We stumbled across this hotel while in the middle of the heatwave. As it’s up in the hills it is a few degrees cooler. Facilities are brilliant with a huge pool as the highlight. There are also a few good restaurants within a km or two as the restaurant is a little formal. Unfortunately, the service is a little lacking. At breakfast, the doors slam shut at 10am. Not even a coffee available, let alone a smile. On the Sunday, there were a lot of day guests. We were told we were only allowed 2 sun beds for 4 of us even though we had two rooms! On our final day there was no water in the room. Things happen but an apology would be nice!

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Stayed half board and food was fantastic and varied.
Staff were attentive and welcoming. Pool area perfect for relaxing with plenty of shade under trees if needed, very peaceful. We would definitely stay here again if returning to this area of Italy.

Room tip: Car needed to explore.

Here we are towards the end of October on a holiday that we’ve waited for for 3 years due to COVID. It’s been worth the wait! We are sitting by the pool and have the whole area to ourselves because despite it being 25 degrees it’s too cold for Italians.
The grounds and buildings are beautiful, we are surrounded by trees and there are blue tits throwing massive acorns from the trees above us! It’s a magical place.
The buffet breakfast we had this morning was great - choices of cheese, meat, breads, fruit, cereal, cake (cake for breakfast!) corni (we opted for Nutella stuffed corni) and plenty of other Italian fare to choose from. The coffee really hit the spot.
Our room is really well presented and comfortable. I’m here with my mum and sister and we each have a single bed in one of the masserie. Love the bathroom and the complimentary basket of toiletries.
Having a chilled out day today, by the pool and looking forward to exploring the region over the coming week.
We booked our holiday with Ingrams and it included a hire car. Our first drive down into Fasano last night took us down a hair raising steep road filled with hairpin bends - not ideal for a first time driver on Italian roads. But we made it and the car is still in one piece!

We stayed here for 4 nights with our 2 children (3 and 4 years old). We had hired a car and it was a lovely central point for us to visit various parts of Puglia over the 4 days. The pool was great and very warm, it was never overcrowded and the kids loved it. We stayed half board so ate in the restaurant everynight as it was easy with the kids. The food was lovely Puglian food and the kids were always catered for. I have to say the staff in the restaurant were excellent, so thank you so much to Angela, Graziella, Patrizia, Tony, Pasquale and Luigi for helping to make out stay and for being brilliant with our children - especially when one was stung by a bee and when one of them threw up in the restaurant. They were so kind and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable enough for our stay. There were weddings on every day that we stayed however, this did not effect our stay at all and we were not disturbed by any noise. We would definitely return if visiting this area of Puglia again and would recommend to anyone who wants a stay where they can visit various places but also have some time to relax by a pool.

This hotel is located in lovely grounds with a good pool area that doesn't get overcrowded. There is a huge orchard where can 'pick your own' cherry, figs and apricots when they're in season.
The rooms are good, although we found the bed to be hard, there was no milk for tea or coffee and we had a spa bath rather than a shower.
It looks as though they were hit hard by the pandemic and are trying hard to recover. The service is not where it should be and some rooms need a little upkeeping. That said we where there for a wedding, which I believe is the main focus of the hotel. The wedding was a great experience, well catered and managed. The party by the pool with candles and flame torches was fabulous.

Room tip: If you want a room with a shower ensure you ask. Easterly facing rooms have sun first thing.

We stayed here for several days for a wedding. The wedding was wonderful, and the room was very comfortable. The grounds are also lovely and the pool is great. The service is a bit lackluster, however. It was often difficult or impossible to find someone to make a coffee or drink, and the bartenders were unsure of how to make drinks (vodka soda was served with tonic; an aperol spritz came as a glass of pure aperol). The wifi is also quite poor in the room, but that's ok if you're on holiday. If they stepped the service up a bit this place could be really spectacular.
