We wanted to walk in the Montafon area, and found the Saladina by browsing Trip Advisor. This hotel is a gem! The Steutz and Wohleser families run this lovely hotel with traditional Austrian hospitality. From the moment you walk in the door, you are made to feel welcome. When you stagger back in after a strenuous walk, you are greeted with tea and cakes - all included in the half board price. Food is organic, plentiful and good. Wines are carefully selected, and excellent. Rooms are comfortable, wood-lined, and ours had a bath - essential to ease the aches of Alpine hikes. But above all, it is the family and staff that make this place so special. We will return!

Wonderful Bio-hotel with great staff, who can't do enough to make your stay special. In the centre of the village and a couple of minutes from the cable car, surrounded by clearly marked walks, this hotel is ideal for walking, good food and comfort.
Small menu, but five courses, each one delicious and organic. One of our party was allergic to lactose and needed a dairy free diet. The chef came to talk to us each evening to make sure he cooked her something that would suit her.
The restaurant is gorgeous. Breakfast is super too, with fantastic bread and lots of choice. The bread is also freely available during dinner.
The owners speak good English and will collect you from the nearest railway station at Schruns for no charge.
Our rooms had fantastic views. The ones in the new extension are bright and comfortable. Those in the original building are darker due to smaller windows, but spacious. All rooms have a great balcony with table and chairs.

Room Tip: Rooms 14 and 15 are bright with great views and spacious balconies. Room 13 is spacious and characterful, but darker as it's in the original building.

OMG! If I have just lived a dream of dreams. When one thinks of towering rugged Mountains, picturest farm steads dotted about, Large swiss style houses with gerainiums in the window boxes - this the place to go!! 2 rrs drive from Zurich Airprt leaving all clutter and entering picture postcard scenery and serenity of Gaschurn. A sleepy town nestled in the Austrian Alps. Pulling too a carpart at teh end of the narrow Valley before the towering mountain ranges take over. Across the road is a cable care dissapearing into distrance. Saladina hotel is an ecological hotel sitting by a stream. A medium sized dwelling family run dwelling. Our hosts couldn't have been more accomodating. The rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. It was like sleeping in a honey comb with the whole bioulding made of wood and most comforable beads too. The staff wear traditionsl cloths and speak english very well. I could go on and on and on about this place. Is you do go here - your in for a memorable treat. With pool, hot tub and suana too for the ski ing winter season. Also the food was exceptional too.

Room Tip: I don't have any! Just take good walking shoes and a camera

My wife and I stayed at the Saladina for a seminar with about 40 other people. We were placed in a house away from the main building, up the hil, which required some exercises to go back and frol. The room was comfortable and had all necessary amenities, the view from the room was magnificent. We also enjoyed the sauna as well as the coffee and refreshment bar in the hall.We had booked a half-board arrangement, which was reasonably priced. However, the drinks had to be paid extra and prices were somewhat on the steep side. The owners and the staff were extremely friendly and tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

We stayed in this hotel for a skiing holiday of 1 week, with our 2 teenage sons. The 2 rooms we had, were somewhat outdated but comfortable. The bathrooms were small.
The interior is typical Austrian, with lots of wood. But no hunting trophies, thank god.
The dining room is traditional as well, the food is excellent. We had a 5 course diner every evening. Vegetarian dishes were also available.
The breakfast room & spa are very modern & beautiful. They allow young children in the spa, so it was not as quiet as we would like.
The staff is very friendly.
Location is excellent, very close to the ski lifts.
