Booked a standard room through the Qantas travel website. Expected a good quality room from a Peppers resort but was very disappointed. The standard rooms are TINY with no room for suitcases (or anything else for that matter). We were allocated room 609a for one night in March 2018. After checking in and sighting the room, we went back to reception and asked if there was anything else available. Was told that there was nothing else and they would let me know if something came up. The design of these rooms in appalling. The standard rooms are part of a larger villa and are rented out separately. The air conditioning and plumbing for the villa is located right outside the standard room window so you hear all the noise of water running and the humming of the villa air conditioning. The light on the footpath shines right in to the standard room window and there is no curtain to block it out. We had been travelling NZ for over a month and had stayed in many different accommodations and this was by far the worst experience (and one of the most expensive !!!). After being unable to sleep in the claustrophobic little shoe box, at 1.45am my partner decided that the sofa in reception might be a better option. After 10 minutes on the reception sofa, the reception staff then asked if we would like an upgrade to a villa ( Hmmm ! This apparently wasn't available when I asked earlier). So a change of rooms at 2am - lugging bags and suitcases across the carpark as they had to have the original room key back. What a difference - the villas are spacious and have everything you would expect from this type of resort. The quality of the standard rooms are sacrificed for the villas. DO NOT book a standard room - they are awful !

250m of data is absurd when you’re paying top dollar for your accommodation Stayed at many other places where we received plenty of data for just standard requirements. Service ok, but only average for the price paid.

Of our two weeks visiting NZ, this was the most disappointing hotel of the trip. The hotel needs better organization and at least a single assigned parking spot per room - we had to carry our luggage half way across the property. Because of location, this place was very crowded, but many aspects of the property felt worn out and not well maintained.

Lovely room which was more like an Apartment with all the facilities but the site access to the room was not ideal.
The location of the hotel is good.
The view from the room depends on the location and type of room.
Bathroom was nice and roomy with all the facilities.
Room layout - downstairs - Bedroom and Bathroom
Upstairs - Good size Kitchen and lounge with massive TV.
AC and WiFi. Free Parking.
Kitchen was thoroughly clean.
Reception staffs were very good and welcoming.
Good place stay in Lake Tekapo but bit expensive.

We stayed here for 1 night at the end of an 8-day coach tour of the South Island, and enjoyed our brief time there.

Our accommodation was on 2 floors and overlooked a nice manmade lake in the resort. On the ground floor there was a good sized and very well equipped kitchen area, and a lounge area with doors opening onto a lakeside terrace. On the first floor there was a bedroom with doors to a balcony overlooking the lake, wardrobe areas and a good and well-equipped bathroom. There were large TV's in both the lounge and the bedroom. The accommodation really would have been ideal for a longer stay.

The accommodation is in different buildings across the resort, and ours was close to the main building with the restaurant and bar.

The reason that I rated this as very good rather than excellent was that the food was not very good for us. Because we were a group off 48, our evening meal and breakfast, both buffet style, were served in a function room. The choice of food was very limited and although not bad was only average in quality, quantity and presentation. Also there were not enough staff to replenish food when it ran out. Food in the main restaurant may have been better but we did not eat there.

It is a short walk from the resort to the lakes edge and there are a selection of shops and restaurants nearby.

Overall a very enjoyable stay.
