“A Warm and Charming Holiday Home for all the Family”
Reviewed 26 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We just stayed a week at Ptarmigan Lodge and wish we could have stayed for longer. A warm and comfortable lodge, this holiday home was perfect for our needs. With four adults, a toddler and two babies staying, we found the lodge perfect for our needs. There was space aplenty for the kids to crawl, toddle and run around, with the den room perfect as a playroom and quiet space. The garden was a lovely space to relax in, though the slope down to the river meant we needed to keep a very close eye on the kids at all times. Within 30-40 mins drive there was loads for kids to do - including a soft play and swimming pool in Aviemore, and further afield the Highland Folk Museum and Whin Park with its miniature railway and adventure playground.

Back at the lodge the bedrooms were comfortable, with huge inviting beds. The kitchen was pretty well equipped and we managed to make everything we wanted with what was supplied. In the evenings there is a lovely stove to spark up and a hot tub to take a dip in. Once we'd had a shot in the hot tub, that was how we spent most of our evenings, breathing in the evening air and gazing out across the riven and woodland at the back of the property.

It was a truly relaxing and comfortable weekend, and we'll definitely try and come and stay again!

“Restful and leisurely stay in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed 15 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Wonderful accommodation with all our needs met. The hot tub was bliss. The lodge is very comfortable, clean and spacious. Ideal for families. Enjoyed walks in the glorious Scottish countryside.
Cooked on the barbecue and in the very well set up kitchen. Couldn't fault it and was very sorry to leave.

Ptarmagin lodge is the perfect place for an extended family to spend a holiday. It has good amenities and is close to all of the Cairngorm "Super Seven" sights so is a great base for exploring.

Regular visits by Norman the red squirrel was an added bonus.

“A comfortable and relaxing place to stay”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We have stayed in several self catering houses in Nethy Bridge in the past and this was the nicest. Lovely big open plan sitting, eating and kitchen area. The large windows in the living area made me feel I was sitting in the garden even when it rained. The garden slopes down to the river and part if it is very steep so I didn't venture down there as I probably wouldn't have been able to get back up! The beds were very comfy with nice quality bed linen. I like to hoover up every day, yes even when on holiday, but I found the vacuum cleaner inefficient and difficult to use but apart from that everything was very nice.

Stayed in this lovely lodge during half term with two other couples. What a delightful place. Welcoming and clean, we could not have asked for more. Spacious, comfy beds with an excellent hot tub. The lodge was a perfect base and the range of games provided excellent entertainment. The hot tub broke on the first day however it was fixed quickly and the local man who looked after the house came back every few days to check everything was ok. Highly recommend this place and will hopefully be going back. :)
