“Wonderful location overlooking the sea”

The old part of Las Playitas where this apartment is located is a quiet non touristy village with four restaurants, a promenade, a beach and a couple of small supermarkets. It is ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday. The apartment itself is up a steep slope on top of a promontory with a large balcony facing south west overlooking the village. The balcony is in the sun from about 13.00 until sunset. If you want breakfast in the sun you can sit outside on the paved area at the front of the apartment which faces north east and overlooks the deserted coastline to the north of the town. There is plenty of space to park your car in this private paved area.
All the equipment is in good working order and it was nice that all the consumables such as dishwasher tablets, soap etc were provided. There are four restaurants in Las Playitas, the two inland Casa Victor and El Poril serve the best food but the two on the sea Las Playas and La Rampa get the sun most of the day and you can sit outside soaking up the atmosphere.
The local supermarkets are very small but 10 minutes away in Gran Tarajal you have two large supermarkets providing everything you could want.
On the other side of the bay you have the Las Playitas resort and golf course. It is very popular with tourists from the Nordic countries who want to keep fit. Apart from golf there are tennis courts, an Olympic size pool and regular organised keep fit sessions. It is completely separate and completely different to the old village, but the facilities are available to you for a fee should you so wish. The only awareness of it is the occasional dance music that wafts across on the breeze during Jazzercise classes.
The whole experience of this apartment and Las Playitas was a real pleasure. Highly recommended.

“Beautiful sea/bay views from an immaculately clean and well equiped apartment.”

The owners are very friendly and accommodating. After a lovely warm greeting, they offered their assistance if we needed to contact then for anything (although this was not needed it provided reassurance).
A quiet relaxing location with a lovely balcony area overlooking the bay at the rear of the apartment and also an impressive sea view from the front of the apartment,
Some nice restaurants in the village and a local shop and Spar in close proximity.
Favourite aspect was lack of commercialisation and lovely location.

The views from the balcony are wonderful, overlooking the lovely village and bay - perfect for relaxing in the sun. This is an excellent apartment - very comfortable and has everything you would need for a enjoyable holiday. The owners were very helpful and friendly.

The village is small and peaceful, with 4 restaurants (Casa Victor's is the best) and a couple of small shops. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday, this is for you.

“Unique Location By The Sea”
Reviewed 8 February 2016 for a stay in January 2016

The properties location alone merits 5 stars. It is situated high up at the end of a promontory overlooking the harbour in one direction and the sea, with cliffs behind, in the other. The views from the balcony are incredible. (As the photos suggest the apartment is the one up high at the end with green railings).

Las Playitas has a black sandy beach, but it is more like a Cornish fishing village than a beach resort. Its not suitable for those looking for 'nightlife' that involves much more that a nice meal by the sea. There is a small golf resort at the other end of the bay, but it just adds a bit of greenery without being intrusive. Cars are not allowed on the front and the two restaurants in the harbour, don't play any music.

There is one other apartment, on the top floor and a house below, but the accommodation which is extremely well equipped and of a high quality, is extremely quiet. Most of the time, with the rare exception of music from the fitness club in the 'golf resort' you only hear the sound of the waves.

Murdo and Ana make you feel very welcome and will provide any help you might need during your stay.

If your after a relaxing holiday by the sea this is the best place on the island to be. At the same time, if like us you want a walking holiday, La Playitas is centrally located with easy access to some great hikes.

Enjoy this unique spot. We did and will return next year.
