We have stayed here several times since 2008 and love coming back to the same apartment time after time. For us, it offers the ideal combination of quality accommodation, privacy and the peace of mind that staying in a gated residence provides.

We love the spot, just outside of Roquetas, up the side of a mountain, on a 5 star golf resort. Just taking a stroll around the residence is lovely in the evening; looking down over the beautiful golf course with views of the Mediterranean sea.

A car is pretty much essential if you stay here, as the nearest shops are 5 minutes drive away, the beach is ten minutes, and there is so much to see in the region!

So, more about the property in question. It is set on the La Envia Golf resort - which is beautifully carved into the side of a mountain - and is a ground floor apartment, part of a small block.

The view from the apartment doesn't really give you much to write home about, but that's of little concern when you'll spend most of your time out exploring, being pampered in the Spa, or playing golf on the 18 hole golf course.

What is important, however, is the standard to the accommodation. I'm told the apartments were only built in 2007, so it's modern. And the owners use it themselves for vacations, so it's furnished to a very nice standard. They even leave a tool kit, extra bedding and all sorts of bits and bobs in the apartment for you to use, so you don't have to go out buying condiments or cleaning products! Everything is catered for as if it were your own home!

Another thing I really like about this apartment is the parking; there is a space immediately outside and another one inside a secure indoor car park, should you so wish. For us, we like to park the car outside - especially after a trip the the shops, or when we return from the beach, as we can simply drop everything out of the car and over the wall of the patio. I then jump over the wall and sit outside in the sunshine, whilst my wife comes through the main entrance.

Speaking of entering the property; the main entrance is through a secure entrance at the back of the property, coming through a locked hallway, then through another locked door. I always feel a little nervous when traveling, so it's great to have so much security on the complex.

If you are disabled, there are full facilities for you, so you won't struggle to enter of leave the property. Where you might struggle is on the slope uphill or back from the hotel - it really is quite steep, so I wouldn't really recommend this property for the less able unless you go everywhere by car or mobility scooter.

The living area is spacious and airy, with a nice dining set behind the leather corner sofa and the compact kitchen adjacent. There is plenty of space to relax inside and a great deal of space out through the sliding doors on the patio. There is a TV and DVD player, and the owners have even been kind enough to leave some DVD's and a pack of cards for their visitors! Along with that, there are parasols to take to the beach and a lovely table and chairs with sun shade out to the patio.

The bedrooms are just as large as they need to be. Both have large wardrobes with sliding doors and you can also split the beds in the larger double room if you so choose. Or, come to that, push the beds together in the twin room! The double room has a sliding door out on to the patio, whilst the smaller back room is on the cooler side of the building, so is pleasantly cool most of the time. One thing this apartment does lack is Air Conditioning. However, there are ceiling fans in every room, which keep you cool enough. Well, when we've been in September anyway!

The bathroom is also very nice - clean and tidy - and features a bath/shower and a bidet (whatever that's for)! I always like the water pressure to be good - there's nothing like a good shower after a day at the beach - and it's great here.

All in all, we love this property. The location is great and it's exactly what we look for, for the money we want to spend.

If I was being picky, I would say some people might want satellite TV and air conditioning. But, for us, it's perfect. So I give it 5 stars.

Dear Disfruta,
Thank you for your honest review, it is most appreciated. I know the neighbour you speak of and he is a very nice man. We do stress it is a residential area and that you should be respectful of this. These people live here and don't appreciate noise late at night or early in the morning.
I am pleased you found our apartment clean, but sorry you found the neighbour annoying. For his part, I can only apologise, but it is beyond my control.
