Delicious pastas tagliatelle with truffles & pici with ragu... staffs were helpful and efficient. Overall we spent €40 for 2 pastas, 1 side dish, 1 big bottle of mineral water and a can of coke.

Everything about this restaurant was lovely. Sat outside on a hot evening in the shade. There is attention to detail here ,presentation is good. We stared with the cheeses came with pickles fresh fruit very nice. Followed by pasta dishes these too were both very good. Finished off with the tiramisu the best we have had in Pienza. Will defiantly eat there again before we leave. It's a must while staying in Pienza

After reading the reviews my partner and I were really looking forward to eating at Il Rossellino. We were warmly welcomed and then seated at a table in the square outside the restaurant. The menu showed great promise, not too much to chose from which to our minds means the chef will produce good tasty food without compromising quality. My partner chose the duck and I, the ravioli. We had a fennel and orange salad as a side dish. The duck was good but could have been rendered a little more, and my pasta could have been cooked for two minutes longer - the potential was there but they just missed the mark. We had read on the previous review that the Panna Cotta was a must, we chose to share this for dessert, what a disappointment! It was had separated and had no wobble whatsoever, it tasted of gelatine so we could not eat it. Such a shame as the owners/staff were lovely. The other thing that spoilt the experience was the group at the table next to us, where one British woman had a dog on her lap who insisted on feeding it by hand and from her plate - she should have been asked by the restaurant to put the dog on the ground as this isn't appropriate behaviour, her companions (Americans and Italian/Americans) thought this was 'cute' and encouraged this. I think that people who own these establishments should be aware of the comfort of all guests and should set some standards so that everyone has an enjoyable experience.

The owner and his son were very polite and welcoming. The food was very good, we had the carpaccio as a starter which was fantastic and two pastas for main dishes. Make sure you get the ravioli with ricotta cheese and tartufo! Best so far during our trip in Tuscany! Last but not least, if you like Pannacotta make sure you try it in this place. It was absolutely divine!

Off the beaten path you will find this quaint little ristorante tucked away in a small courtyard nestled in the hilltop town of Pienza. We just happened upon this by chance and it had a very nice outdoor cafe with large umbrellas, which as it turned out were a godsend as the skies opened up and wreaked havoc on us during our stay / lunch.

The best part of that experience was the owner(s) who were so apologetic about the weather to which we kept reminding them...it's only water and we won't melt. Their attention to our concerns, and continuous fussing over us and moving us around safely so as not to get wet was touching. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed both the wine that was presented to pair with our food, and the local micro-brewed beer that we tasted which we enjoyed immensely.
