The family at Casalprato could not be nicer. They welcomed my husband and me at 8pm with smiles and a bottle of wine. Niella, the wife/owner, hustled to put clean sheets on our bed and leave us with a stack of clean towels. Although we speak Italian, they had their daughter on hand who spoke English, in case we had any questions she and her husband couldn't answer.
The room was nice, and seemed clean, except for some stray hairs on the bedspread. When we woke up in the morning and took a walk around the farm, we were dismayed to see a lot of junk and mess everywhere (very similar to what CFBtripper mentioned in his review). There was also a large parrot in a pretty messy cage right in the kitchen near food prep and eating areas which made me squeamish about my breakfast in the morning. Also, flies everywhere.
But the folks who ran the place were incredibly, outstandingly nice.
A great spot to explore Montepulciano, Pienza.
Would we go there again? Maybe... but we have a pretty low tolerance for mess and flies, so maybe not. One of those places I think you have to see for yourself and decide.More
