After years of visiting Stefano and Ornella for our annual summer break we held our daughter's wedding at Sant'Anna in Camprena this June. We have always raved about Ornella's world class cooking, Stefano's impeccable hospitality skills and the unparalleled beauty of the spot to our close friends, but we were overwhelmed by the perfection of what they and their crew delivered. They went above and beyond the expected and the result was a storybook wedding that surpassed even the wildest dreams of the most discerning princess. It was intimate, elegant, inviting, peaceful and unbelievably romantic; the food was world class, the service beyond expectations and every last detail was beautifully delivered. We have always refrained from leaving reviews as we have selfishly tried to keep this little piece of paradise to ourselves but now feel compelled to share. Thank you Ornella and Stefano for giving Angela and Jesse the wedding of their dreams! Baci e abbracci da Eva e Fabio

We were invited to attend a wedding for an American couple that were getting married at Sant'Anna in Camprena. The entire property was filled by the sixty people attending.

I don't know how Ornella and Stefano and their staff pulled it off, considering the size of our group, but their fine service and excellent meals were enjoyed by all. The food was absolutely amazing--The wedding dinner had probably five courses, and was served in the beautiful enclosed courtyard. And that was after a multi-course appetizer feast.

We really enjoy our stays at the property and look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: There are a variety of room sizes, some with shared bathrooms, some with enclosed bathrooms. WiFi can be spotty at times.

Everything was great at the monastery. It was so beautiful, authentic, quaint, and breathtaking to stay there. The food was out of this world, and the service and amenities were impeccable and reliable. I would love to stay there again. I came for a wedding, which was just magical. The way they decorated and the food they serve was unmatched by anything I've been to before. The outdoor area is gorgeous. The only thing I'd like would be to have in-room wifi! There's only one room in the monastery where wifi was accessible for me.

I was among six women who visited in June in memory of our dear friend Kathleen McClain, who died in 2013, and who had loved Ornella and Stefano and their B&B at this former monastery. Just as she did, we enjoyed the spectacular views and dinners at the monastery. We took day trips using the wonderful Italy Chauffeur Service. Nearby Pienza may be our favorite hill town.

Mostly popular among art, painting, architecture, classical music events amateurs and of course "English Patient" movie fans, who come here to wonder about the places where Juliette Binoche was filmed.
Rooms are authentic and spartan giving you the idea of how Benedictine monks were living in the 16th cent. But this laconism goes side by side with medieval frescos dining room, lemon garden, beautiful cathedral, a bell-tower and etc, etc...
The hosts - Ornella and Stefano is a very hospitable and friendly couple, who run that place and managed to create a very family-friendly ambiance. Good for romantic escape as well.
