“Wonderful”

Spent a week here, thoroughly enjoyed the place and value. Walk up to the old cathedral, not to be missed for the history and views. Good restaurants in town too.

“A piece of heaven”
Reviewed 2 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Visiting Molino le Gualchiere in September was absolutely amazing. The grapes were ripe as were the figs, plums and apples. The farm is quaint and Padronale is a spacious and lovely accommodation. Calling it an apartment doesn't do it justice, it had three huge bedrooms, each with its own full bath, a huge kitchen, dining room, living room and terrace that we spent most of our time on.

Loro Ciufenna is a beautiful old town which was having its annual festival while we were there. Some of the best pasta we ate was in Loro Ciufenna. Both Daniele and Roberto were very accommodating and Daniele actually arranged for two chefs to come to the farm and spend the afternoon giving us a cooking class and then serving us an extraordinary meal--highlight of our trip.

If we had a negative it was that the farm house was not stocked with the normal kind of supplies--dish soap, garbage bags, basic spices. Since we had found those in other places we were disappointed to have to go out and buy them here.

Because there was so much fruit around--especially figs, we took advantage and made fig chutney and fig jam for our meals. Delicious.
