We stayed at SHV for a week with our 2 girls (6 and 8) for our first family ski holiday with our friends and their 2 children (similar ages).

We each had a junior suite. I can thoroughly recommend the hotel. The location is spot on, about the closest you can get to the main meeting point for lessons. The room was really good, the 2 single beds were good size and our configuration meant each of our girls had an element of privacy. There was also a partition so you could separate the adults bed area if you wanted.

Bathroom excellent, looked new, very powerful shower with loo separate which is useful as family. Loads of wardrobe space and your own ski locker downstairs.

Food was ok, big help yourself salad to start every night of cold meats, cheese, breads etc. Some of the bits were a bit variable but overall good. 3 course dinner each night generally a pasta course then meat or fish main. Again all fine, some nights better than others but nothing awful.

They couldn't be more helpful with kids. Couple of options not really for our group of kids so they made something different for them quite happily. The special Tirole night was excellent and the kids really enjoyed their special kids night in the other room.

We had a table in first part of dining room which was good as a bit quiet as hotel is busy and lot of families so it can be busy/buzzy. Not an issue but be aware of this if you don't like kids!

Resort itself excellent for us as first timers. Really brought out kids on as they skied some red runs by end of week from scratch. The ski school was excellent. I'd thoroughly recommend.

Excellent option for Lunch or dinner with a really good touristic menu. It is not necessary to be a guess. There is a salad buffet included with a great variety, everything very fresh and good.
Beautiful and classic environment and great service.

The rooms are really nice - large, nicely furnished with very comfortable beds, good temperature control, separate shower room and toilet, lots of power points and a small fridge.
Ski room is large with lockers for each room. It could do with some more benches though.
Wellness centre is great - it excludes children - and is really relaxing. Pool is refreshing but is small, and there are usually lots of children splashing around.
There are lots of families using this hotel - I suspect this is because the resort is quite 'beginner friendly'. But they are usually very well behaved so don't be put off.

Staff are great. All of the people we met were extremely friendly, helpful and approachable, and always wanted to help. Luciana on reception is excellent and speaks very good English.

Our waitress for the week, Anna, was lovely. Always smiling, patient, helpful, polite and courteous - a real credit to the hotel. She even approached the chef to make some dishes up for us if we didn't like the menu.

Food.
Hmm. Breakfasts were good - the usual fare, and a good selection. Coffees freshly made from the machines were good, though I did need to add an espresso to the cappuccino..

Dinner was a bit hit and miss. Out of the seven nights we really only enjoyed two of them, the Trentino themed evening was delicious, and the final Friday night with the seabass. We were never hungry though, a great salad bar made up for the poor mains.

The food seemed to be a bit mass-produced and bland sometimes. Certainly fell short of the standard set by the hotel in other areas.

In other hotels we've stayed in, the dinner choice is made at breakfast, and the food seems to be much better, probably because there's less waste and is cooked to order.

The wine selection is good, and is reasonably priced.

Desserts.
Again a bit poor. There are so many cakes and tortes available at breakfast that are not available in the evening!

The carbonara we had (on request) was absolutely delicious - a simple dish well prepared and presented. It shows it can be done.

Wifi was quick, but signal poor in rooms. OK in reception area.

Would we stay again?

Yes.

We stayed here recently as family of 4 on a skiing holiday half board for one week. The rooms were spacious and clean, the hotel staff were very friendly and always helpful. The location of the hotel is the best in Passo Tonale for skiing access with it directly opposite the slopes and ski pass office. The hotel provides ski lockers and renting of ski equipment is next door. The swimming pool is small however the spa facilities is up there with any of the best spa facilities in Ireland hotels.

Breakfast was good and evening meal reasonable although I would have liked to have seen more variety on the menu.

If travelling here to stay this is a good hotel and location excellent. No problem recommending this hotel overall.

We've stayed at this hotel at least five times (probably more) and have never found fault. The food which is typically Italian is stunning, tasty and plentiful. Whereas we've only stayed in standard rooms these are spacious, clean and of a high standard which can be said for all of the common areas in the hotel. The reception staff speak excellent English and are extremely helpful and accommodating. The bar staff are friendly and welcoming year after year and the restaurant staff are attentive and professional. This hotel is centrally located within the village and when snow conditions allow you're able to ski to the door! Basically I can't fault this hotel nor its staff. We have stayed at other hotels in this resort but will always try to book this hotel when visiting Passo Tonale.
