It can be a bit hit and miss when it comes to planning accommodation but we use the reviews in Trip Advisor as our ‘bible’ and more often than not everything works out perfectly. It did here!!
After a marathon trip from Gold Coast, Australia this hotel was the first of many on our trip around Italy. It was a great choice.
The welcome was sincere and throughout our stay the hotel manageress was very helpful.
The room was large, clean, quiet and had a balcony overlooking the gardens.
This is a great place to stop if you intend to explore Rome.We parked the car at the hotel and took a short taxi ride to the next town (Frascati) where we took the train on a half hour journey to the Rome Terminus. Then on to the Colosseum etc.
We enjoyed an evening meal and breakfasts at the hotel.
No hesitation in recommending Hotel Verdeborgo!

This lovely Hotel is really the place to be when you want to visit Rome just outside Rome center, in Grottaferrata , in the Castelli Romani -Roma Castles area. It is a beautiful villa/mansion refurbished with love and care. You can see that from the garden, and small details from the concierge, the outstanding breakfast choices (fresh crostata, typical italian patisserie, yogurts, fresh frittata with zucchini). Rooms are big and bed superconfy (slept so good, mattress hard enough as I like it). High ceilings, windows in the bathrooms also and bidet. We stayed four nights and we had the best time in visiting Rome which is close by (30 minutes by train from Frascati to Rome Termini train station) .The only thing I can suggest is that you need a car to reach the hotel or you take a taxi from Fiumicino/Ciampino (Ciampino airport is really closed by) to Grottaferrata (where the hotel is located) and then move with trein/metro to reach Rome.
The closest town is Frascati (basically Grottaferrata is 10 minutes- not even - (3.6 km) by car from Frascati which is a lovely town full of little bistros, restaurant, shopping (so many clothing shops and trendy/chic also). So I would suggest you to go to Frascati for a stroll in its little streets and have a gelato at Brega's (better than San Crispino, my personal opinion) and a pizza with fiori di zucca (pizza with courgette's flowers) and a taste of the fried baccala (cod-fish) with all fried vegetables, all with a nice Frascati's house wine (their local wine is also outstanding!).
Last but not least I like to give a special thanks to Signora Giada, the Verdeborgo's owner and all her lovely team, because with her sweet smile and great customers approach she really made our stay fantastic. the real OSPITALITA' ITALIANA! Grazie mille Giada and I hope with my review to help you get the Hotel Verdeborgo more known and appreciate .
You really deserve it! GRAZIE ancora!

Room Tip: pic the room you want because they are all great. No noise, just the birds sound! very quite and totally in the countryside.

We visited this very nice hotel for 4 nights. The hotel itself is very beautifull, with a nice garden and very cozy rooms. Antonella (one from the staff) was very kind to help us with a lot of information, including finding out where we could rent mountain bikes for cycling in the hills nearby. We thought before we came that we would eat in Grottaferrata most days, but after trying the resturant (el cavallino) at the hotel, the first day, we never wanted to go anywhere else. The food was really nice and we could both sit inside and outside. I would higly recommend this hotel!

We loved our short stay at this lovely hotel. It is an old villa converted so lots of history. Our room was very comfortable, bed and bathroom were good, the outstanding part were the hosts, so obliging in every way and the dinner was one of the best we have had on our many trips to Italy. If u couldn’t stay at the hotel go to dinner there, just the best food. Breakfast was continental style with lots to choose from.

My parents picked this location to celebrate their 50th anniversary, and was just a brilliant idea. The setting is perfect to host private events, with that rustic-chic flavour that makes the village of Grottaferrata so nice and pleasant.
We enjoyed a delicious "aperitivo" on a side garden, whilst dinner was served al fresco on one of the terraces. Food was delicious and well presented. Worth mentioning: the value for money is excellent.
Everything was perfectly appointed, from flower arrangement on the table to the music in the background, to the extremely kind and attentive service.
Giada, the lady who run the place, was so nice and helpful in every detail we could just recommend talk to her first when searching for a location to host your private event: whatever your idea or wish, she will go the extra mile to match it!
My parents were extremely happy and I couldn't be more grateful to Giada and her staff for allowing them the magical night they had wished for.
Grottaferrata is my favourite village in the "Castelli Romani" area, but this corner of it looks just like the perfect retreat for anyone searching for an intimate, chic, warm venue to celebrate.
BTW: should you feel like staying over, rooms are really nice, too!

Room Tip: Si sentono gli uccellini cantare. Vi sveglierete cosi. Per chi arriva dalla città, una vera oasi di pace e relax.
