This was one of a handful of restaurants that we ate in twice on our three week visit.

Lovely courtyard location, traditional, family owned and our waitress on both occasions could not have been more helpful.

We did find that couple of the dishes were not available but given we were eating fairly late and this is a small establishment we did not see this as a problem.

Big improvement on our experience last year and this will be near the top of our list for next year.

“Kalispera, your menu , see you in half an hour” . Finally we were able to order food and wine from a waiter that did not know anything about the food she was selling, she barely knew the difference between red and white wine. And they did not have half of the menu, sold out 1 1/2 hour after opening time. The food was ok, the place beautiful, the service was terrible. Maybe the owner should consider to hire a few more waiters and educate them.

Being two streets off the harbour front meant calmness and serenity. The building inside was a shell which you walked through to the outside courtyards. In the far corner was a play area for kids. The food was decent but it was the lack of buzz as in the main street that meant a nice quiet relaxed dinner. Prices were normal for the town but the courtyard feel was delightful and from our table you looked back through the main building out to the street- no glass in windows just lovely old metal bars- very beautifully done

No wonder this taverna was almost empty when nearly everywhere else in town was buzzing! The setting and garden are very pleasant so we thought we’d give it a try. The service was fairly indifferent to begin with, but went downhill rapidly when the waitress had made a mistake with the order, she brought lamb chops instead of the pork ordered; after implying it was me who had made the mistake, she said it would take a long time to replace with the pork, so as my husband already had his meal, I decided to keep the lamb so we could eat together. The chops were just skin and bone with no meat at all, but rather than complain we decided to put it down to experience. However, when the bill came they had, of course, charged us for the more expensive lamb and when we pointed out that this was a bit unfair the manager was called and he made a huge fuss, even though we pointed out that it would have cost them more if they had had to cook the pork as well! Of course mistakes happen, but they can be put right with good grace and a smile. There are so many better places to eat I.
in Paleochora, so give this place a miss!

Small restaurant in side road. Large courtyard / garden where the majority of tables are. This was very busy for early in the tourist season, with not many spare tables. Service was efficient, they are very good at turning tables round quickly. The atmosphere is not as relaxed as you might find in most Tavernas. Food was good quality with carafes of table water provided free, which always gets a positive vote from me. If you prefer local less touristy places this is not for you. Waiters with walky talkies gives you the idea.
