All of the positive reviews are true. We were really pleased with our choice to stay here and to splurge on the "honeymoon" cabina. It's located at the back of the property which slopes upwards- the cabina is at the top of the slope so has lovely views. It's beautifully laid out and furnished, including a jacuzzi tub. Everything you need is here- the kitchen is so completely equipped it's amazing. There is a private little yard with loungers in front for enjoying the sun.
The hotel is located a short walk from restaurants and shops, very convenient.
The breakfast buffet is visited almost daily by monkeys which is a real treat. My only negative comment is that if you go to breakfast towards the end of the service period, the food choices are pretty limited and they don't seem to want to put out more items. The meal costs $7 whether you eat early or late, so didn't seem quite fair to us.
We absolutely would return to the Arco Iris if we are ever in Monteverde again.
Also- we booked a number of activities through Desafio- in a word- EXCELLENT.More
