Property is the best it can be, considering its location in a sketch part of sketch Santa Elena. In March it was choking with dust from all the limestone roads, very windy, noisy day and night with LOUD unmuffled motorcycles (the main transport for locals), with barking neighbor dogs all night, every night. This is no quiet, restful rainforest stay! Hard to find, especially at night. Dark, winding streets add to the rough-and-ready backpacker atmosphere of Santa Elena. It is however close to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and Sepulveda Adventure Park and especially Hidden Valley Trail at Escondido Sendero, a real Find. We also stumbled way off-path north of Selvatura Adventure Park to find a hostel lodge way up on a ridge an hour's drive up a treacherous road to a closed waterfall trail...the place offered a decent "tipical" meal and a simply spectacular panoramic view of Arenal volcano and lake! But--we were happy to get out of the dust and head to the Osa peninsula for peace and quiet in the rainforest.More
