Just spent two wonderful months in Parrita in a quaint little beach house. Not a 5 star resort, but quite comfortable. Johann and Elka were great hosts. johann transported us to various places ranging from the waterfalls, to the volcano, to the best boat tour of the mangroves where the white faced monkeys got onto the boat with us eating bananas out of our hands and kissing us on the cheek to get ore bananas. The house is located about 10 kilometers off the main road and it is a very rough road, but the solitude makes it well worth the drive. Macaws and white faced monkeys around the house. For about 2 weeks , the white faced monkeys would come to the trees in front of the house to get bananas from us. helpful hint, if you are lucky enough to get the monkeys to visit you every day the way they did for us, do NOT try to feed them plantains. They don't like them and they never returned! Only problem we had with the house is no hot water and no stove.
