A decent dine out option in mall of India.... Was difficult to find since there was no board or anything... Apparently they're undergoing a brand rename.... Anyway, the concept is a bit confusing... It's a restaurant with decor like a book cafe. But what matters is the food. For starters, the stuffed chicken fingers is very good and very different. It's chicken fried in layers with stuffed cheese inside. It's very good to taste. For main course, lahori chooza is also good. It's like a version of butter chicken with more tomato in gravy. But they made it very very good. Soft and lovely gravy. Keema naan is ok, I've had better than this certainly. But still, using Zomato gold the overall cost with the location and food to consider, is good. 4/5

The food is very good. The entire list in the menu is not available especially fresh juices - even the ones not marked seasonal. The service is shoddy. The manager leaves at night before all guests are gone. Sometimes the staff eats on the guest tables. Mostly the restuarant is poorly occupied. Cocktails I haven't tried but the food was good especially pita, pasta Primavera and rolls.

We are frequent visitors to DLF Mall of India, and it’s always fun to see which new restaurants have opened. This time, visiting late one night (it was about 9.45 when we reached) on a Sunday, we discovered that the Lebanese restaurant chain Zizo had opened an outlet here. I have already eaten at Zizo in Connaught Place (and liked it a lot), so I suggested we go here for dinner.

Zizo has a distinctly Lebanese/Middle Eastern vibe, what with the little patterned tiles on the floor, the displays of cookbooks from the region, and the counterfront displays of jars of colourful pickled vegetables. Giant spools of colourful ‘threads’—each ‘spool’ six feet or so across, each ‘thread’ the breadth of a sturdy rope—are suspended from the ceiling. The seating is of different types—high bar stools and proportionately high tables, sofas, regular dining chairs.

The restaurant was almost completely full when we arrived, and the only table we could find (there was nobody to guide us in and seat us) was right under an AC vent. At first, this didn’t bother us much, but sitting under it for an hour and a half nearly froze me.

The menu here is Lebanese/Middle Eastern/North African, and very appealing, all the way from mezze to pizzas to tagines. After much debate (and because we weren’t terribly hungry), we chose a lamb kafta and cheese pizza as a main course, with a fattoush salad for a starter and an order of fries for our toddler. To drink, I ordered a watermelon and passionfruit juice while my husband opted for a watermelon delight (watermelon juiced with lime and mint leaves). Our waiter informed us that our order would be served in 20 minutes, so (since we were very hungry), we asked if the salad and the drinks could be served as soon as possible.

Our drinks, the fries, and the fattoush arrived soon after. The drinks were both good, and the fattoush salad was delicious: lettuce, rocket, tomatoes, cucumbers and a little raw bell pepper tossed in a tangy, sumac-scented dressing, with crisp little pita chips through it. Our daughter loved the pita chips so much that she picked them all out and gobbled them up!

After this, we had a long wait. Over half an hour after we’d placed our order, there was still no sign of our pizza, and it took several attempts to attract the attention of the wait staff before someone came along to reassure us that the pizza would take another two minutes.

When it did arrive (yes, just a couple of minutes later), the pizza looked unusual. The cheesy top over a bed of minced lamb was all melty and beautiful, but arranged on top of that were slices of pickled cucumber, and in the centre was a dollop of hummus. This was like nothing I’d encountered before, but one bite, and I was hooked. The lamb was very delicately flavoured (which allowed the taste of the meat to come through), the cheese was just right—not too much, not too little—and the pickled cucumbers lent a certain tangy freshness that balanced the rich meat and cheese very well.

We had a satisfying meal both in terms of quality and quantity (we even had to get some of our fattoush packed, there was so much of it), and for Rs 1,518, which we thought good value for money. The only problem is with service, which seems to be undergoing teething troubles at the moment. Hopefully that will settle down soon.
