We stayed here in August 2017, 6 adults and 2 children.
The villa was large enough for all of us, with a bedroom to spare. It is set out in 2 ends with 3 bedrooms at one end and 2 at the other, which was nice to give people space.
Plenty of indoor and outdoor space, with chairs and tables etc.
Pool was huge, shallow end for pool games and a very deep end.
The manager did the meet and greet and was on hand during the holiday when we needed her.
The villa was clean and well equipped. It is obvious the owners care about their villa and don't just use it for income.
We didn't hire a car, taxis were around 8 euros to the centre or marina.
Only issue for us was the air con wasn't in the bedroom and the mosquitos, it didn't seem to matter what we used we all ended up bit!
We would definitely return to this villa and would recommend to all.
We had a lovely week long break in Villa Tina 2. The pool and pool area was fantastic with a deep end and shallow end to suit our boys - four boys aged between 3 and 8. They thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't get enough of the pool! There were plenty of sun beds with umbrellas if needed as well as a sheltered area in the corner with table and chairs if needed to stay out of the sun. Also from about midday on, a nice breeze would develop which was very welcome during the day at the pool. The villa itself was great - private, very spacious with a well equipped kitchen. The welcome pack was very much appreciated on arrival!
Definitely would recommend having a car - very short trip then to local supermarket and short drive to Alvor and its beaches - all fantastic! We found our way to the villa easily enough from Faro airport (only hours drive) following the directions we were given (easier than I expected!) - although had to be alert for the left turn at the 'higino'! Could get taxis to and from villa although more reliable on the way back than when waiting at the villa for one!
Only downsides were the mosquitos and air conditioning. There was air conditioning in the sitting room which was great but a major bonus would have been air conditioning in the bedrooms as it got quite hot and didn't want to open windows and doors as mosquitoes would get in!
Overall, we had a fantastic stay in Villa Tina 2. The pool and pool area was fab - and as a result we stayed around the villa more than we thought and had a very relaxing holiday (if you can with boys between 3 and 8!!). Would definitely recommend!
We spent a fantastic week at Villa Tina 2. It was perfect for our group. 3 adults, two teenage boys and two eleven year old boys With kitchen, dining and living area in the middle of the villa, this was perfect for the teenage boys as their two bedrooms were on one side and ours were on the other, allowing them to sleep in in the morning as teenagers do! Each bedroom is ensuite which also gave everyone their own privacy.
The villa has everything you would need for being self sufficient, crockery, glasses pots and pans, and a well appreciated ice machine for cooling drinks down. Air conditioning would have made it a bit more comfortable but once you get used to the warm evenings in bed it sort of adds to the experience. (Although my sister would argue with this!)
The pool at the villa was the perfect size for everyone to enjoy with both a shallow end and a deep end for extra fun. Mosquitos were a bit of a nuisance at times in the evenings and it was very important to make use of the mosquito repellent plugs that were available around the place to try to keep them out of the rooms. Keeping doors and windows shut seemed to keep them out to, but this was sometimes unavoidable as the open doors and windows made it somewhat cooler in the intense heat. Bearing in mind that on our visit Alvor was in the middle of a heatwave (30-37 degrees).
Unfortunately we did not rent a car and this proved to be awkward. Even though taxis were reasonable enough (€6 into Alvor), and very quick once you called them, it would have been handy to pop to the shop for the commodities that run out such as milk, water, bread etc. The nearest shop was a ten minute walk but in 37 degrees and access by a steep hill it was not pleasant. We did try and walk to Alvor but the main road was actually unnerving especially with the small boys in tow. Our transfer from the airport had great difficulty finding the villa, even with the address and directions that we had received. It would probably be better to meet Amanda (the lovely caretaker) somewhere along the main Montes de Alvor road on arrival.
Alvor is a gorgeous place, and oozes charm and authenticity. A small town, set in a harbour it offers plenty of hours of dining and mooching about the quaint shops and bars, which come to life at night time. Strolling about there are plenty of discoveries that will satisfy every traveller and a menu to suit every taste. (fish of course is plentiful).
We had plenty of days out, all accessible by taxi to the beach, Slide and Splash Water Park , Faro and Praia de Rocha but to be honest one could have quite easily laid by the pool all day long as the Villa offered so much in terms of rest and relaxation! Will definitely be coming back :)
Spent 1 week at Villa Tina 2 with my parents and brother. Everything was great - the house was spotless, the pool was clean and the villa is in the perfect location. Walking distance about 20 -25 minutes to Alvor. Taxis cost about 6 euro to and from Alvor and all of the taxi drivers know exactly where the villa is. We had a wonderful relaxing week. Would highly recommend this Villa.
A beautiful family villa with that wonderful home from home feeling. Villa Tina is situated in a peaceful location allowing you to get away from it all yet is only 5 minutes away from the humdrum of lively Alvor, it’s harbour and amazing beach.
A return visit to this comfortable and homely villa this year was a pleasure. The exterior has been refreshed and this has given Villa Tina a feeling of renewed energy.
The fantastic pool was the focal point of our family holiday, whether lazing beside it, on it or partaking in pool games, great fun was had by all.
Local car hire was easy, though cabs into Alvor were only a small fee allowing added freedom & flexibility on evenings out. A great place for old and young alike.
