Casa Mandorlina is a cleverly converted building, offering very comfortable accommodation for six people. The location, a few miles from Ostuni, is quiet; the house is surrounded by an open area with mature fig trees providing an excellent treat for breakfast, but it is not isolated and the neighbouring family is particularly friendly and helpful.
Ostuni and the other small towns in the area are charming with plenty of shops and cafes. The villa owners can provide invaluable suggestions for really good restaurants offering traditional Puglian food.
The kitchen area is small but functional and the villa is well-furnished with some lovely creative touches.
There are a number of beaches a short drive from the villa. There is a really good pay beach adjacent to a nature reserve which was busy but not overcrowded even in high summer. We visited a number of the local towns and also more touristy areas like Alberobello, but we also really enjoyed sunbathing on the terraced flat roof of the villa, eating lazy lunches sitting on the veranda and we made good use of the small pool.
We hope to stay again before too long.
