I've stayed here twice over the last 3years, both times on a business trip and I can surely suggest it as a perfect choice in Herford. Good value for money, rooms are comfy, bathrooms are big, clean, well equipped. The hotel is centrally located and the staff is very kind. Breakfast room is open to the public, so you can go "social" with the free wifi connection. A plus? In the shower you get the tool to clean it yourself!!!

My husband and I have stayed here twice before at Easter and stayed again for Easter 2016 for 4 nights.

Check-in on Good Friday was quick, easy and friendly with Henrik. The hotel was closed but he quickly arrived after ringing the bell, after that our room card opened the hotel door whenever it was closed (Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday). The car parking ticket from the Altstadt car park was validated as usual and we were shown how to validate it ourselves in the event we wanted to come and go as we pleased. The car park was closed for most of our stay (the stairwells and lifts not the actual car parking facility) but was accessible by pressing the intercom.

On this stay we upgraded to one of the 'comfort' rooms (room 15). It was a spacious, beautiful room with a thick shag carpet, minibar and exquisitely decorated bathroom with top-of-the-range, modern furnishings. The minibar was filled with nuts, Milka chocolate, Fritz Cola and other Fritz variations, fruit juices, prosecco and beer; these were sold at 'normal' prices - a 330ml bottle of coke was a couple of euros. The room also had bedside tables, bedside lamps, a desk with chair, a chair and table, a double wardrobe, external 'wardrobe' with coat rack and space for shoes and a flatscreen TV with lots of channels. The pillows had the usual Haribo goldbears replenished daily and there were complimentary shower gels in the bathroom for each of us.

The room facilities were almost all that we needed, but I would have personally benefitted from a mirror over the desk to straighten my hair. Without this I had to use the shaving point in the bathroom, a mirror over the desk would be preferable so I could sit down to do it because of the length of time it takes me, it was also difficult to manoeuvre in the bathroom with the small amount of space between the sink and door which was adjacent. There was a full-length mirror on the internal wardrobe door which I also tried to use but again the layout of the room made this difficult.

The bathroom was well equipped and the shower was luxurious.

The room looks out on the alleyway linking Klingenthal on the right and the Altstadt car park on the left preceeded by a beautifully decked area owned by the hotel - an emergency exit brings you out here.

Unfortunately our sleep quality was massively compromised by a noise that could be heard every 30 seconds or so all day and all night. On our first night we thought it sounded a little bit like a dog yapping periodically however, with frustration, time and curiosity we put our ears to the wall to Klingenthal next door and could hear it coming from there, possibly a motor running. As it was coming from Klingenthal and the store was closed from Sat night until Tue morning when we checked out we didn't think there would be any point mentioning it to the hotel. When asked about our stay on check-out we did mention it to Henrik who was apologetic. Aside from this the room was very warm and we therefore slept with the windows open however, on one evening (Sun I think) there must have been a bonfire or something because it stank of smoke so we had to sleep with them closed which was pretty unbearable temperature-wise. Other than this the beds were very comfy and helped massively with us getting some sleep despite the aforementioned barriers.

The hotel itself was looking fabulous with modern, clean furnishings and décor and the toilets I used just prior to check-in were very clean. Free Wi-Fi was available which worked well until our last couple of days at which point it stopped working for me but I was able to use the 'Herford Freifunk' open connection which worked well.

Breakfast was a delight again with the usual continental buffet of cold meats, cheeses, bread, cereal etc. and cooked breakfast options - we ate scrambled egg with and without bacon daily. There was a lovely fruit cocktail available daily and on some days sweet pastries but the availability of these were inconsistent. This was the same with the tomato and mozzarella salad on the buffet - some days it was there and some days not. The fruit juice was lovely. Breakfast hours were accommodating - 8.30am - 10am on 'closed' days and on the days it was open (and therefore also functioning also as a coffee shop) we were told we could eat from 8am until whenever. The chocolate bunnies decorated the table settings over the bank holidays and Easter Sunday.

The staff were very pleasant and accommodating, most of them speaking good English which helped us when our German was lacking.

Check-out was fine.

If the room had a mirror above the desk and the noise from Klingenthal was fixed this stay would have been perfect. There's certainly been nothing wrong with our previous stays in the 'classic' rooms but if we stay again we'll definitely be staying in a comfort room. The value for money here is fantastic - under 100 euros per night, the standards of cleanliness and comfort are exceptional, the staff are lovely and the breakfast is amazing. It would be fabulous if they served lunch and dinner if the breakfast is anythign to go by! Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Noise could be heard from Klingenthal in room 15 for the duration of our stay

I stayed in this Hotel 5 days on the week before Christmas - Because of the location you are in the city centre with bars, restaurants, shops and supermarket nearby.

The breakfast is set up in a mini buffet style and one can order eggs and bacon - very filling and tasty. I found the staff to be friendly and polite.

We had a lovely large, clean room with a beautiful bathroom and walk in shower - perfect for the stay.

Well worth the money - could not find fault with anything.

I have used this hotel on a number of occasions for 1 and 2 night stays. The hotel is located in Herford Town Centre and has a small but busy Cafe on the ground floor. Free Parking is available in a secured multistory car park within 50m of the hotel with a ticket authenticating system in the hotel reception to allow you to go in and out of the car park at will.
Rooms are large, clean with comfortable beds and a large bathroom with walk in showers. There is a reasonably priced minibar in the rooms and a supermarket next door if you need supplies.
Staff are always friendly although the reception closes around 2000hrs. Breakfast is provided in the cafe and consists of a continental small buffet and offer of cooked to order scrambled or fried eggs and bacon.
Being in the town centre the hotel is only 60m from the Alt Markt which has a number of bars and restaurants. Rooms are well sound proofed so that
you do not hear the noise outside.
Very hard to fault the hotel, prices are a little more than some other places in Herford but it is well worth the extra for the location.

Great location with free parking in nearby multi-storey. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Rooms were large and airy but even though we were on the top floor we did hear a lot of noise from the street early hours e.g bin men and shop shutters being opening. The location is fab as once you are checked in everything is on your doorstep.
