This pub has a good choice of Belgian "and" foreign beers. The interior is mostly kept as it was usual in the early 1900's in the labourers communities surrounding the factories in that period. The pub is about 120 years old and named after what they called a little rascal in that period locally.
A great place to have a drink and a good conversation with friends. Easy going.

Travelling to Belgium to visit various beer-cafès, must be a privelege for a beer-lover. Being a member of a serious beer-club in Norway, it's been an annual occurence travelling to different parts of Belgium.
This year Turnhout in Northern part of Belgium was on the program, and Cafè De Penge was one of the aims.
A superb cafè With Nice localities, and even better, a real relaxing back yard. And best of all the, selection of beers served by a real enthusiastic holder/owner.
The most peculiar thing in this Place was the pissoir. It was placed richt in the corridor between the cafè and the back yard. You could simply take a leak as you talked socially With the passing guests.
So if you are in the area of Turnhout, the city of the playing Cards, you must visit De Penge!!

Great selection of unusual Belgian beers. A lovely outside courtyard and atmospheric seating inside. Brilliant. We didn't try the food so couldn't comment but the beer was fantastic. Some beers on draft, others in bottles. The beers were very unique and different from what you would find in normal bars.
