We are a family of four with two young children, who recently stayed in a 3 room apartment on the 2nd floor. We were very impressed with how spacious the apartment was. All of the rooms were incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean. The views were fabulous.
The breakfasts, whilst costing an additional amount per day are well worth the amount - so much choice of food and the eggs were delicious!
The only enhancements I would suggest would be to have a plug for the kitchen sink and also have mugs in the kitchen as the small cups were not big enough for a decent cup of coffee!
Overall an excellent stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors away from the restaurant are quieter

The apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped with loads of storage. Dining table and chairs, Austrian twin, double sofa bed and 2 armchairs, ample kitchen. There was a lovely big balcony with gorgeous, south facing mountain views. Big flat screen TV. The bathroom was fine although the shower is quite small. We stayed in Apartment Ellmau on the 2nd floor. No Lift and would suggest a higher floor as the bar gets busy later on and can be noisy.

Beware though - you have to pay for breakfast, whether you eat it or not, which is added to the bill if you stay in high season. Having said that the breakfast is really excellent with eggs cooked to order. Better than breakfasts that I have had in 4 star hotels.

Asados steak house is the evening restaurant on site and it is truly excellent - easily the best steaks I have ever eaten, although they are expensive.

The staff are all really friendly and in the time we stayed there we felt really welcome. The bar in the evening is good fun. Extensive wine list and champagne by the glass or bottle if you so chose! It is a smoking bar after 10pm.

Location good with the Maierlbahn gondola a 5 min drive or hop on free bus very close by. Huge free car park next door to hotel. When we left they gave us a lovely packed breakfast as we needed to catch an early flight.

Would I return? YES.

Room Tip: higher floors are quieter

4 months ago I ordered 2 rooms for 2 couples for 5 nights.
The day we arrived to the hotel, in the afternoon, the reception was closed.
They left on the desk Keys with note, they wrote that the hotel will be out of staff for the next 4 days, and " if there is a problem, please contact the hotel across the street".
So when we had a problem we went to the hotel across the street, but no one there knew who should help us and they refused to help.
The rooms had not been cleaned.
The shower was not enough stream to take a shower.
Not left enough toilet paper. We had to buy it at the supermarket.
There is no cover to the big windows in the room, so we had to wake up early in the morning while The sun is shining.
In one of the nights there was a Loud party that was held at the restaurant under the hotel and we could not get to sleep.
The hotel is called "Apartment hotel" but it is not an apartment. It is a large room with a kitchenette inside.
While booking, we left the credit card number because they said that they will not charge us until we stay at the hotel, but after less than 1 month the Credit card was charged 200 Euro.
Ask how do we received the final bill? It was Pasted on the doors of the rooms with Sellotape …
Surprisingly, when they made the final bill, they "forgot" that they already charged 200 euros by credit card, and tried to charge the full price again.
In short – don't go to that hotel. Go somewere else.

Room Tip: there might be noise from the restaurant in the ground floor

We stayed as a group of 8 adults for 4 days in this hotel (it is really like serviced appatments) and overall it was a pleasant experience but the hotel management needs to pay attention to some service details. I here summarize the good, the bad and the uggly:

Good:
-Location (almost just a the botom of 2 lifts and with a ski bus stop in front of the hotel, yet just a super short drive to the center of the town).
-The room was on the top floor and had been renovated (watch out, other rooms have not!) and I can say they did a fantastic job at it, it was comfortable and very beautiful. 3 rooms 2 of which had a sofa bed, 2 modern bathrooms and a very practical kitchen, plenty of space for seating in the social area and wonderful terrace.
-Breakfast was good and varied.
-Plenty of parking space
-Area for leaving the ski equipment in the basement

Bad:
-Service....we had several complaints. The main one is that apart from the moment of check in, when we needed to get the front man we could never find him....Then there is the issue of the rubish at the apartment, since no one explained what we were supposed to do with it nor extra bags were provided. Only 2 days after we asked for some more somone gave us a couple of extra bags. Lastly, the lady in the restaurant was not the kindest of all either.
-Breakfast...despite it being good, we were not extremely happy about the fact that it was mandatory to have it (pay for it).
-There is no baggage storage room, so after check-out we had to leave out suitcases in the middle of the reception area, which some of us thought may have been a bit insecure.

Other:
It has a meat restaurant which we were told was good but did not try!.
It does not have a spa but by a small amount of money you can use the one from the much larger hotel in front of this one.

All in all it is good value for money and I would repeat my stay there probably, but a bit more of effort in service would certainly make a big diference.

Room Tip: the top floor apartment for 8 people was the best one according to the man at the reception and it l...
