My wife and I have been staying at the resort several times over the last 5 years. After the last try, to book a bungalow I do not think that we are ever going to stay there again. The treatment over the phone and the internet was simply not up to standard. Worst of all we were lied to by the so called reception manager.

We were 5 students on exchange from Hong Kong and we had an amazing and relaxing time. Place was very clean, beach was lovely and the weather was amazing. People who worked there were friendly and most spoke good English.

The overall layout of the resort is super cozy and cute and is at the end of the beach so it means that very few other tourists wander through it and make noise, making it a very nice getaway. The walk up to the resort houses is a beautiful garden area that really makes you feel out in the wild.

Our room had a programmable safe, AC, TV with cable, and a fridge. The provided buffet breakfast was a good amount of food. Not amazing food quality for a meal in general (it is a buffet) but definitely the best hotel/resort breakfast I've had.

When I booked through their direct site I received a Paypal request to pay the deposit, as they told me would happen. I was a little confused about why it was a request for Swiss Francs but when I phoned them they explained to me quickly and in good English that their owner is from Switzerland so my confusions and suspicions were fixed.

Room value really depends on your budget. We actually intended to get a slightly cheaper room but they were all booked so we paid for a slightly more expensive room but since it was being split between 5 people, the per-person-cost was still very cheap.

Would definitely come back to the resort again!

We stayed at Samed Villa for 3 nights after a much less pleasant stay at Tubtim resort. We paid 1800 baht per night for an apartment room, which was right at the back of the resort (and I think newly built?). The room was big, clean and they gave us a spare mattress for our 5 yr old son. Being at the back, we had no view and our room was in a 3 floor building, but after looking at many other places on several different beaches, we honestly felt that this room was good value for money, on Koh Samet at least. The room had a a great bed with nice linen, air-con, tv and nice touches like a torch and a mosquito zapper. Breakfast was a buffet and we ate enough that we didn't need to eat anything until dinner (except maybe an ice-cream!). We slept very well every night and apart from the odd door closing in the morning, didn't hear the other guests at all.

The beach here is ok, but you can walk 5 mins to Tubtim beach if you prefer. The resort has free beach chairs and the wi-fi is free too. I don't think I would pay more to stay in the beachfront bungalows, as they have very little privacy and looked smaller than our room. The staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was ok. The beer was cheaper than Tubtim or Silver Sands! If I came back to Samet, I would stay here again. If you decide to go to Koh Samet, be prepared, it is not cheap.

Room Tip: Stay at the back. The beachfront rooms are right next to the restaurant and looked smaller too!

We stayed at Samed Villa from 6th to 10 March 2012

Nestled at the end of the bay Samed Villa was as described in their advertising, Value & Clean

We had Bungalow A1 bechfront & Sea view, room excellent condition and roomy, No excessive noise heard at night.
Staff were pleasant & helpful at all time.
Breakfast was a wide choice and cooked to your liking.. Restaurant on site had very good Thai & other foods Thai very good. Night time BBQ had a large selection of Seafood & choice of salads & Desserts or you could order from the restaurant.

Located at the end of 3 bays you can walk the bays (sometimes over rocks) North half an hour all the way to Sai Kiew beach , then through the arcade to the main street or down to the pier, walking the beach is quicker than taking the truck taxi, you also enjoy exercise on the way and you can stop for Food/drinks or a swim when you want along the way.
South bound from Samed Villa is over the rocks to Tubtim Resort area, there are a few other restaurants & accommodation there as well..

Samed Villa plenty of beach chairs & Umbrellas for everyone, good position, gardens beautiful & tidy. Very relaxing resort. Good value @ 2500 (AU$80) per night

We would stay there again and would recommend it to Couples, Families & friends

Room Tip: Beach front Bungalows are in a good area at the south end of the resort and still private and quiet
