We stayed in Prairie Hills resort for 4 days 3 nights as a group of 4. The rooms were spacious and clean. I'd recommend this place to a group of friends or travelling families.

The villa we booked is seated on top of a little hill. It comes with a pool and a patio good for those with kids to run around. However, as it's right next to the scenical world, it tends to be noisy outside with the endless music playing and screams from the joy riders during the weekends. You won't be able to hear them from within the villa though. Bring plenty of mosquito repellent if you intend to hang out by the pool.

The front desk staffs speaks adequate English and are very helpful and polite. Breakfast are very simple fares, served in buffet during the weekends, in ala carte style during weekdays. The flies, bugs and insects are a problem when having breakfast. We constantly needed to shoo them away.

There are 2 rooms in the villa, each room comes with a queen sized bed and a single sized sofa bed, and tv. There's also a dining area equipped with fridge, stove top, sink and dining table. There are limescale built ups on the taps and shower area though which is unpleasant to look at. Be sure to bring along your power adapter as we forgot ours and the hotel didn't have any to loan us.

Tesco, 7-11 and several road side food stalls are only a 10mins walk away. There's no tour agency desk by the reception around but the front desk officer can help to contact a tour agency to help arrange for transport or tours.

Overall, Prairie Hills offers great value for money accommodation. We've enjoyed our stay there tremendously and will not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking at holidaying in Khao Yai.

we travelled during the very non-peak season (hottest season) and found ourselves to be the only family checked into the hotel.
they have a salted pool (small but good enough for just my family), the pool is just right in front of us (from the back room- we were given a room at the ground level).

transportation wise, it isn't very convenient as there is no taxi nor tuk-tuk. you can rent a motorbike (from a shop in the town according to the hotel staff) and there is no car rental available. motorbike just doesn't work for us, but the hotel is willing to send you (in their pick-up truck) to the destination with reasonable charges. (we got FOC transportation to and fro Palio Khaoyai, and paid transportation to nearby restaurant and Primo Piazza). if we were to redo again we will definitely rent a car from BKK and just self drive here as there were so much more to explore.

wifi was good in room. breakfast was simple but sufficient. as we were the only family there the staff just asked if egg/toast bread/sausage is fine for us and we just said "yes".

there were a few staffs who cant really understand/speak english well, but the receptionists had no problem communicating in english. (we do not have problem understanding and convey our msg to them).

note: no renovation undergoing at the hotel itself during our stay, on the day when we checked out we saw workers repairing furnitures at the lobby. there was however construction on going next door. looks like its going to be a bigger hotel, however we didn't hear any noise throughout our stay.
there was however burning/smoke smell on and off. it wasn't the hotel fault but i think it is the local who does open burning that just basically affect the area. we smelled it in the hotel. we smelled it in the back of the truck while on our way to the bat cave. (btw do not miss the bat cave tour which is one of my favourite in this khaoyai trip).

Room Tip: personally prefer the ground level rooms - the pool is just right at your back door.

Very well designed for a small resort. The staffs are friendly and helpful. We also had dinner there too, not very impressive and the food are costly and doesn't taste right. However, we love the designs, staff's service and amenities in the rooms. They serve very good size of breakfast too. Wish we could stay longer.

We stayed at the Pairie Hills in two rooms.
The place could be nice, bvut it is far too overpriced for absolutely NO service: noone speaks English. They are of no help for tours organisation.

The building is undergoing construction: no reception, big 4 or 5 storeys buliding being built. The noise is on all day.

The hot water in the shower comes on and off.
No possibility to eat on the spot.

When we cheked out, they asked us to wait for them to check the minibar !!

Room Tip: avoid at the moment

Visited Khao Yai with family and my parents at the end of February. Chose this place because I liked the way they presented the property on their website and that they have a two-bedroom villa available, which is our preferred room type.

The property itself looks quite new, possibly opened for less than 6 months, and the design is of trendy minimalistic style with white being the main color. The garden within the property is very well kept - tidy and nicely trimmed. The pool is of good size and I believe it is salt water, so you don't need to tolerate the choking smell of chlorine. The villa guests gets to use a smaller but private pool right next to the villa.

The staff gives you the typical Thai warm hospitality, with whole-hearted smiles while delivering the service. However, they could be better trained to make the experience more perfect. For example, by the time we checked in, the pool next to the villa is not cleaned, with fallen leaves, plastic bags, and paper rubbish floating in the pool. The staff did promptly clean the pool after I asked them to, but wouldn't it be better if the pool was clean before the guests check in, knowing that you are going to have guests in the villa on that particular day?

Overall, a nice choice to stay in Khaoyai and I am very likely to stay here again should I visit Khao Yai in the future.
