“Adorable place- great location”
Reviewed 23 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Location is great; right off the beach and 20 minutes from el yunque. The place is very cute and was exactly what I was looking for. It was small, but had everything that necessary for our stay. There were lots of great food options nearby and within walking distance too. Its very much in a 'typical' puerto rican town, which I think enhanced the experience. The owner is extremely kind and helpful, giving lots of great information and advice for the area.

“great beach and more getaway”
Reviewed 3 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

My 6 year old daughter and I loved our week-long at Richard's beach house in Luquillo. The location was the perfect launching pad for a wide-variety of activities, including: steps to Pared beach (for playing in heavier surf and watching others ride the waves), quick drive to Luquillo Beach (for calmer waters), 20 minute drive to El Yunque (hike to la Mina falls), 15 minute drive to Caribali Rainforest park for a beginner horseback ride, 20 minutes to Fajardo (for a snorkeling catamaran day trip and two visits to La Vistas Cafe for breakfast), and 45 minutes to Humacao Nature Reserve to kayak around the lagoon.

We enjoyed being so close to Boardriders bar/restaurant, which became our early evening entertainment - relaxing with a drink (wine for me, fruit punch for her) and watching the surfers catch the waves (surfer TV!). And Pasta y Pueblo was nice as well - lovely staff, decent food, and the skateboard halfpipe was the perfect place for my daughter to burn off some energy while I relaxed and waited for our food.

The house was very comfortable and just as advertised. Parking on street was super easy. Richard was quite helpful, responded very quickly to any questions I had and it was super easy to check in and check out.

The only reason for four stars isn't under his control - the neighborhood is a bit run down, which didn't really bother me. But as the weekend approached, it was a bit tough to handle the extremely loud music into the middle of the night. I think some came from a local restaurant on the plaza, but there was also a good bit of it coming from cars driving around and around town blaring music. Fortunately my daughter slept through it all, but I could have used a earplugs. That said, it didn't ruin our absolutely amazing vacation.

Management Response
4 Mar 2017
Thanks for the head-up about the new restaurant and music. We haven't had any other comments on this - but I'll have a talk with the owner and the other neighbors. I'll also add a supply of earplugs just in case there are light sleepers - the air conditioners usually block most noise, but for guests who choose not to use airco, this should help the situation.
The neighborhood around the house is currently in transition, several houses that are run down have been given notice by the town government to fix them up or sell to someone who will - so hopefully this will improve quickly. Past guests have already commented on improvements in the village and hopefully this will continue.
Glad to hear you had a great stay!

“Return Visit Even Better Than First!”

After putting several hundred miles on our rental car exploring the island last year, we decided to spend most of our time in Luquillo this vacation. We visited the Kiosks and the beach directly behind them every day, trying a different food stand or restaurant each trip. We also made sure to dine at more restaurants in town. You can't go wrong with Pasta y Pueblo, Boardriders or El Rincon Del Sabor- Luquillo's top three ranked restaurants on TripAdvisor. A new restaurant, Leña's, is right around the corner. It's a perfect spot for breakfast and lunch.

The improvement of this up and coming beach town over the course of one year was striking. The sidewalk along the beach and the town square were both completely overhauled. And Richard continues to be the best host we could ask for. We can't wait to come back next year!

“Beach Paradise”

This house is part of everything we love about Luquillo. It is centrally located, one block from La Pared Beach and close to snorkeling reefs and Luquillo's other beaches. Walking distance to Restaurants.

House has been recently renovated. Comes with good Wifi and Great cable TV. A/C in bedroom. The owner very thoughtfully provides everything we could possibly need. Well supplied kitchen. Plenty of Linens and Beach Towels. Even has beach chairs, boogie boards and Snorkels. Backyard has a Charcoal BBQ grill.

This is a traditional Puerto Rican house. If you are looking for a local experience this is it. The neighborhood is safe and the neighbors are wonderful and friendly. The beaches are some of the best on the Island. La Pared is famous for Surfing. A short walk, Playa Azul is a calmer swimming beach.

The owner was always available by phone, text and email. We were provided with a lot of information to make our stay nicer. Thank you for a wonderful time. Hope to be back soon.
