A level grass area on the top of a hill between 2 interesting temple like structures. The whole area has views down to Rievaulx Abbey nestling in the valley bottom.
The "temple" nearest the entrance was open the afternoon we went and a guide was explaining about its historic use as a picnic location for visitors to Duncombe Park on the edge of Helmsley. Its a pleasant level walk to the other "temple" at the other end of the grassed area.
There were a number of sculptures around the area, most were by Michael Kusz who has a workshop in Reeth and works under the name of Graculus Sculptures. Well worth calling in if in the area.
