“Peaceful country retreat”
Reviewed 4 July 2011 for a stay in June 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent week-long stay at Swallows Cottage. It was so lovely to stay in a charming, traditional cottage with all the mod cons. The bathroom and kitchen have been refurbished to a high standard and made our stay really comfortable. The kitchen is also really well kitted out which meant that we were able to eat in every night which was perfect as we had 2 young babies with us.

We made use of the open fire which gave the place a lovely homely feel. The bedrooms are clean and very comfortable.

The cottage backs onto beautiful countryside and is on a really picturesque road. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed his walks!

Swallows Cottage made a perfect base from which to explore Dorset and we spent much of our time visiting various beautiful beaches!

A lovely week and we would certainly recommend the cottage. Thanks!

“Just Gorgeous”
Reviewed 24 May 2011 for a stay in April 2011

We have stayed at Swallows Cottage on two occasions and will try and get there every year. It is a beautiful, characterful little cottage in a fantastic location. We enjoyed visiting Swanage, Corfe castle steam railway, the tank museum and fossil hunting at Charmouth. It is a beautifully unspoilt part of the country and at times it felt like we were holidaying in a different era. There is lots to explore around Shitterton and some days we just waded in the stream and caught sticklebacks and played in the fields. There are lots of nice pubs and restaurants but we mainly cooked for ourselves in the well appointed dining kitchen enjoying freshly caught lobsters and other local produce. Justl lovely

“A charming traditional cottage in the heart of Dorset!”
Reviewed 22 May 2011 for a stay in April 2011

I spent a weekend away with friends at the cottage in April, 2011 and had a fabulous time in this beautiful Dorset retreat.
I was very impressed with the cottage. It has a number of traditional charms throughout the property but also has a nice balance of modern amenities.
It is situated in the heart of Dorset in a very good location within close proximity to a number of beautiful coastal towns and tourist attractions. It would also be ideally suited to anyone with an interest in enjoying beautiful trips along the coastal paths.
I will be revisiting this cottage in the future without a doubt and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a little break away in the beautiful countryside of Dorset.
