went as a party of 13..unlucky for some but not for us.....because we booked the santa susanna resort, spain.rooms basic but very clean as was the whole hotel.every night 4 or 5 cleaners cleared the whole pool area and spent 2hours cleaning it..never seen this before not even in 5star hotel.entertainment every night..not top end but we all enjoyed it.staff all very friendly and efficient..the whole atmospher was relaxed and friendly.food and drink plentiful and good quality..we went out to neach for day and ordered pack lunch.amazing value for money..am planning to go back for my 60th the rest of the party were in their 20's and they want to go back with me so good for all ages.quirky swiss ski chalet exterior which is what attracted me to it in the first place..so much nicer than the usual boring hotels.only negative..public toilets have a timer on lights..only last about 30 seconds..definately not long enough and can be frightening for small children as plunged into darkness.dont listen to the moaners.....we had a grat time..well done santa susanna resort..cya soon!!!!!!!!!

We have just returned from a 4 night break. There was 15 of us and we visited as a hen party. We arrived on Friday night just before midnight, and I have to say when we arrived a was a bit like entering an episode of "shameless". There were people drunk and shouting/arguing and falling all over the place and arguing with reception. We were even old by other guests to turn away and go home as the place was more or less rubbish (they chose different words).
The welcome from reception was not the most welcoming after a long wait in the airport thanks to hotel hopper bus (be aware if you book airport transfers you could be waiting a very long time at the airport) I asked whether it would be possible for us to have one drink each as we had been on the bus over and hour and in the airport an hour and I was told NO even though it was just midnight and they had been putting everyones all inclusive bands on. I did think this was a little unreasonable as we were loosing a days food and drink due to the flights and transfers.
We went to our room and we were all spread throughout the hotel. We had a room down by the pool (without balcony), the room was quite small and warm as there is no air conditioning and although basic (no hairdryer or iron ect) the bathroom was nice and the rooms are very clean. You have to pay extra for the remote control and the safe but we did not bother. The TV can be switched on manually without the remote and we were not in the room long enough to worry about it.
Some of the rooms in the attic area are small and airless and others are very large with an excessive number of beds in them. 2 members of the group had a room in the attic with an upstairs as well which we called the duplex suite. The rooms in the newer part of the hotel with balconies are by far the nicer. Although the hotel has a lift it does not go to all floors in the main hotel. The top floor and rooms around the pool you will need to climb stairs with your luggage, the hotel is not accessible for people with disabilites as there are steps everywhere and the restaurant is about 3 floors below reception.
The hotel is very clean and the cleaners are permanently cleaning, the food although basic is good and there is a good choice. The snack bar is also good and is open in between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. The tosties as they call them were really nice. The drinks at the hotel were very strong and this is the cause for what we called the Santa Susanna walk, which is leaning to the side and bumping into everything in sight.
We did not see any entertainment going on at the hotel apart from a flamenco show on the last night. There are plenty of rooms that they could use for entertainment but they dont they use the bar area. If it is raining there is not enough space for people to sit as the tables are all booths and benches so 2 guests take up booths for 6, this means the staff have to bring in plastic tables and chairs from outside.
The pool is a good size, but very cold and t]although there is a hot tub 20 or so children appeared to sit in it all day (breaking one of the many hotel rules of only 5 people at a time and use for a maximum of 10 mins, see I did learn the rules). Talking about rules I have never seen so many on the wall of a hotel in all my life, I think I could paper my house with them. Each day new rules went up which we found very entertaining. The master of the rules comes on shift in the evening and you can see everyone get aggitated as soon as they see him, he is very abnoxious but saying that he probably needs to be to manage the behaviour of some of the guests staying at the hotel.
The complimentary train stops outside the hotel every 30 mins and takes you into the centre of Santa Susanna. There is a Carrfore supermarket next to the hotel and a shopping complex next to that.
All I can say about the hotel is that it is clean, the food and drink are both good for 4 days and it was everything we wanted for a £179 hen party. Would I want to stay there on my holiday for a week or 2, NO WAY.

Room Tip: New part of the hotel with a balcony

5-day break in May with my daughter and for the price we weren't expecing much but we were totally wrong and weren't disappointed. Food plentiful and several choices with a separate childrens section - not all chips!!!! Always hot and severy kept clean, tidy and replenished - not long queues even when the restaurant was full. There was even a carvery one night. Staff very friendly in all areas - nothing was a trouble and the rooms were clean although not spacious but you don't spend your holiday in your room do you! Pool isn't heated but the sun does the job well and it's a real suntrap. Pool bar had burgers, hot dogs, toasties and chips - not my type of food but there's a Careffour next door and Lidl the other side so no need to go without snacks if you really want them. The free train/bus to the town/sea front was a bonus - and every half hour - would have cost 4 euros each return each time if we'd had to pay for it. Stops at train station and half hourly trains to Barcelona (8 euros return (takes abouit an hour) or 24 euros including the on/off tourbus round Barcelona). 30 euros deposit (fully refundable) for tv remote from reception and a daily/weekly charge for wi-fi - you can pick up the free wi-fi from retail park on the balcony facing it 'though. One down for me was no hair-dryer but I'll know the next time because we're definitely going back - too good not to do it again.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 - 7 are really handy for the pool (terrace no balcony) BUT they are under the bar and dancef...

We booked to stay at this resort purely based on price, and having read the reviews on here before we travelled we didn't have high hopes. However, I really couldn't fault the hotel. Possibly the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in - the cleaners were there from before 8am until after 10pm, and the whole place was cleaned head to toe every day.

There is a little 'train' that goes in to the town every half hour or so from outside the hotel which is free for people staying in the hotel. The walk in to town is actually only about ten minutes but the train is quite novel. There is a supermarket next door should you need anything else.

The food was lovely; there was fresh fish every day, alongside some sort of grilled meat (usually chicken, pork or turkey), and a stew type dish as well. There were mussells, paella, rice dishes, patatas bravas and (of course!) chips every day. I heard some people complaining about the food, but really even the fussiest person could have coped. There was a large selection of salad at each meal as well, and there was a dessert trolley too. Breakfast was either cereal, pastries, toast or a cooked breakfast. The food was kept replenished throghout and was hot and tasty. Everyone in my party really enjoyed the food. There was a bar there too.

There is an outside bar by the swimming pool which served toasties, chips, burgers and hot dogs. I never managed to eat any of this as I always ate enough at lunchtime!

The bar area had plenty of seats, inside and out, and the bar staff were really nice and friendly. The alcoholic drinks were very alcoholic, there was also fresh juices, hot drinks and the 'cocktail of the day'.

The only complaint I would have - and it isn't really the hotel's fault - is the noise at night time from people coming back to their rooms and making a lot of noise. We were close to a lift, and people who had been drinking would get out of the lifts at around 2am/3am and have very long, very loud conversations. On one occassion, the little boy next door to us was playing football in his room and banging the ball against the wall repeatedly. By 1am, after two hours of banging, this was wearing thin so we made a call to reception, who dealt with the issue straight away.

Overall, brilliant experience and we are hoping to visit again later in the year.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms near the lifts - it's where the noisey people meet at 2am!

just come back from 1st trip to this hotel(2nd for our friends, who went last year and rebooked), got to be honest-don't expect 5 stars, but if your looking for a good cheap family friendly hotel, good food(i read some of the reviews and had some concerns, but we all found food we enjoyed every meal time. considering there was 11 in our group of all ages from 1 to 49-no complaints), good drinks, good snacks, clean room, deep pool!. as long as you follow the rules you should have no complaints. the only criticism was the entertainment but its a very small one(we have been to places like this before and had better and worst entertainment),so all in all REALLY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY
