My husband and I spent 7 nights at Heliotopos and it was amazing. We chose the traditional cave room and loved it. The room had everything we needed to be comfortable. A kitchenette, mini bar, small stove top, plates, glassware, robes, extra warm blankets, and slippers. The pool is small but I never saw multiple people in the pool at once. Our stay had breakfast included and it was delicious usually an assortment of bread, eggs, fruit, jams, juice, and coffee. Orange juice was freshly squeezed. The wine bar was fantastic and the view is amazing. Everyone seems to think that the best sunset view is from Oia and I don't really see why...our favorite place to view the sunset was without a doubt the wine bar - no crowds and delicious cocktails. The food menu is small but everything was delicious - my favorite was the cheese platter. My absolute hands down favorite part about this hotel is without a doubt THE STAFF! Words cannot describe how grateful we are to the Heliotopos staff. Hope, Joseph, and Achiles greeted us daily with genuine kindness and really did make it feel like we were staying with friends. They will coordinate everything for you; restaurant reservations, excursions, transportation etc...they are amazing. I would stay at this hotel over and over and over without a doubt just because of them.

If you want to see the best sunset in Santorini, book a table here for drinks and snacks and enjoy before going fo dinner. The serve excellent Santorini wines and have very good cocktails. Try the Fava and Dakos

The room was amazing, the view was unbelievable (EXACTLY as you imagine it would be), the restaurant (The Wine Bar) was delicious (I have left a more detailed review on that page). The sunset view from the hotel was picture perfect. The staff were extremely helpful with directions and arranging transportation. If we ever make it back to Santorini we will for sure be staying here again.

No denying it: Santorini is stunning. A must see for every traveler. It can also be overwhelming when you’re planning because you are never sure if you’re choosing the best location of all the villages. Let’s face it, wherever you stay you will have a beautiful view, but Imerovigli offers uninterrupted caldera and sunset vistas. Who wants to fight a crowd for an inch of space to watch the sunset when you can sit on your on balcony, at your dinner table, or lounge in the pool in comfort and tranquility? Heliopolis offered us this gift and we soaked it up! Highly recommend!

Pros: As three ladies traveling together throughout Greece for two weeks, individual space is important. Our suite was spacious (2 twins across the room from each other and a queen bed in loft), cool, quiet, and located right off the lobby so it was convenient for pool and breakfast. Food is excellent, both the free breakfast and dinner in restaurant (we ordered and had it delivered to our balcony one evening-perfect!). Favorite dish to try: Mediterranean nachos.

Cons: If I must, I’d say a hot tub would be fantastic since the pool is incredibly small and frigid, and additional bottled water for room. The accommodations aren’t the most luxurious but perfect and authentic for the location. We loved the place.

Tip: We purchased a half day private tour of Santorini and saw everything. Best decision!

Above all, the service staff are absolutely a joy and so incredibly kind. They truly make this business outstanding and we sincerely thank each and every one of them.

Great location in Imerovigli and Hope and Joseph (and the daughter of the owners who clearly love their hotel and clients) go above and beyond to answer questions and help with anything you migh need whether that's a taxi, restaurant recommendations, or a sailing trip. Joseph was so helpful recommending wineries when we told him we wanted to go to just a couple on our own rather than a tour. The hotel rooms do have views, but as some of the rooms have patios or balconies directly off the pedestrian path, the most pleasant place to view the sunset may be the wine bar on the top. That spot was magical with a glass of Santorini wine and even blankets if you got cold after sunset. Great appetizers too! As with all the caldera hotels, expect steps, many many steps! You get used to it but it's a bummer if you climb up to head out and then realize you forgot your sunglasses in your room! The pedestrian walkway to Fira is literally right in front of the hotel. It's about a 30 minute walk to the heart of Fira, but Imerovigli has plenty of restaurants and fabulous views with the bonus of being less crowed than Fira and much less pretentious than Oia. The hike to Oia starts on the pedestrian path and takes about 3 hours. (Take a bus or cab back.) Our room, number 25, was large and could have slept 4 comfortably with a loft upstairs (which we didn't use). A mini mart is at the top of the steps which is very convenient for water, wine, snacks. No one in Santorini drinks the tap water because it's salty, including locals and pets. The hotel provides one large bottle for free. Our room even had a kitchenette and a mini fridge stocked with beverages., robes, and slippers! Beautiful view from the pool as well! Highly recommended!
