We splurged on 3 nights at the Grace hotel after reviewing the reviews on trip advisor and other travel sights . It was described as one of the best hotels on Santorini with the best views of the Caldera and they were right!!
The hotel is centered on the semicircle of the Caldera so the views are spectacular. They have one of the largest if not the largest infinity pool on the island which we used every day. We could see some pools at some of the other hotels nearby and many are tiny. The deck around the pool is also spacious as opposed to others we saw.

We also used our plunge pool at our room . We had the deluxe room with plunge pool category . I was concerned because some of the other posts on trip advisor mentioned that their plunge pool area was not private . We were in room 52 and it was wonderful with no public foot traffic going by. Ask for this room .

Breakfast was a delicious multi course meal served ( not buffet) on the pool deck and the menu changed every day . If you don’t like the selection offered they will make you something else .

The staff are warm , helpful and friendly and aim to please. Great welcome when we checked in . Helped with some tour arrangements

I hope we have the privilege of staying here again one day. It’s a fairy tale come true

We were fortunate to be able to stay st the Grace

We spent four nights at Grace Santorini to celebrate our 20th anniversary with our kids. I think this is the first hotel where I have stayed where the marketing pics on their website are spot on. Not sure any pictures can truly capture the beauty of Santorini. From the moment we were greeted to the moment we left, the service was impeccable.

The breakfast for me was one of the highlights. Every day they had a prepared menu that offered an interesting way to sample local cuisine. Careful attention was paid to the presentation of the food and the parings of the smoothies, greek yogurt and warm food was unique. Bonus is enjoying breakfast with the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea and Skaros Rock.

We stayed in the Villa which was perfect for a family with two bedrooms and multiple seating areas to relax and enjoy the views, particularly the sunset at night. Added benefit of having a dedicated staff member, Konstantinos, to assist you with every request. Very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about everything the island had to offer.

The amenties were great and everything worked as advertised. Music throughout the villa, 180 movies on the television, spacious bathroom and shower, comfortable bed, refrigerator stocked with drinks, fresh fruit daily, and a unique treat with a bottle of water that was left nightly during turndown service which I thought was a good twist to the traditional chocolate on the pillow.

The location is in a very quiet area of Santorini and a good distance from Oia and Thera where most of the activity on the island is centered. That was not an issue for us and easily secured a car to take us into the cities so we could experience the markets and the shops. Plus there are many restaurants around the hotel and down in Fira which is about a 20 minute walk if looking to experience food outside of the hotel. The staff was very willing to offer up recommendations to fit your mood for the day.

An additional benefit for us was being directly located by Skaros. It was a nice morning walk to trek up the rock and back. Hidden on the back side of Skaros is a small church which was a good side adventure.

There are a number of people that trek on the back side of the hotel as it is in the path for people to head to Skaros, we were not in an area that was disrupted by that but enjoyed some of the people watching and was a backdrop for many bride and grooms to have their picture made at the base of the hotel.

As others have mentioned, Santorini and Imerovigli requires a fair bit of walking and navigating steep walkways / staircases. Wouldn't recommend it for people with small children (don't believe the hotel accepts children under 14) or people that have difficulty with stairs.

Overall - I have nothing negative to highlight. It was the perfect hotel focused on customer experience in an ideal location with an exceptional staff (George the General Manager is very approachable and friendly)

Room Tip: Appeared that every room had a great view of the sea and the sunset which is the highlight of the island.

We stayed for a week in this wonderful hotel and it was hard to leave. The view from our suite was out of this world and we were consistently treated to over the top sunsets! The hotel with its location is beautiful, the restaurant bends over backwards to accommodate each person, the concierge and front office staff, the housekeeping staff, the yoga instructor, the sommelier, the servers, all have to be given five stars. The only caveat is that the hotel is perched on the steep side of the mountain and you must be able bodied to navigate the steps to your room, the restaurant, etc.

Room Tip: This depends on your budget. The suites with the hot tubs have the best view and offers you the most space.

Dear KarendC171BD,

Extremely happy to read your kind comments & review for Grace Santorini!

Rest assured that your Five Stars have already been passed on to the respective teams you are mentioning and namely to Sjaan our Yoga Instructor & Kostis our Sommelier. They are truly ecstatic to receive your reference for their service. Caldera is definitely a unique setting and the steep hill is surely compensated by the enchanting views of the blue and majestic sunset.

We look forward to your next visit at Grace Santorini, in which case you are most welcome to contact me direct for any facilitation you may require.

The Grace hotel in Santorini is an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived we were met with the kindest most gracious service. Every request is met with, “of course.” The staff here goes above and beyond to ensure the highest level of comfort and relaxation.

While the service is amazing, the best part of this hotel is the incredible view. We went all over the island - from Oia all the way down to Akrotiri - and nothing matches the views from Grace. It’s truly spectacular. We spent the majority of our days lounging by the stunning pool and taking it all in.

There is not one negative thing to say about Grace. It’s a dream come true. Stay here!!!

Very lovely, very expensive luxury hotel. Having read opinions that it is "the best" hotel on Santorini, and considering the price, my expectations were very high. We were not disappointed, although there were a few minor issues.

The pampering starts before check-in, with the option to customize your stay by selecting pillows, toiletries, etc. They offer arrival transfer services at E75 (shared) or E100 (private) which seems excessive, but given how scarce and expensive taxis are on Santorini, it's understandable - a taxi from the port is probably E50, though you can find cheaper options. On the other hand, for such a top-tier hotel, it would have been nice if transfers were included, as they were for our earlier stay in Oia.

Check-in was a very leisurely process, we were seated outside with champagne and had a lengthy getting-acquainted conversation before finally getting to the actual check-in, not sure if this is usual or perhaps the room wasn't quite ready? Oddly, we were told I had requested a specific room and they were able to arrange it. I've never been here and wouldn't know what room to request, but if I did, it would have been from TripAdvisor recommendations and it certainly wouldn't have been room 51, often mentioned as one to avoid due to being directly on the public pathway to Skaros Rock. If anything, I might have requested NOT to have that room? Complete privacy is a rarity in Santorini, but 51 is right at eye level on the public path, so not only do you have the opportunity to say hello to passersby (a couple of whom found our entryway a good resting point) but you need to close the shutters when dressing. Room 52 next door is better, as the steps slope down below it.

The room itself is lovely, very modern, clean and well-appointed. There's a huge shower room (watch the painted floor, its slippery), nice high-end toiletries, comfortable bed, Bluetooth speakers, a flat screen tv, etc. Welcome treats are provided, and each evening, a different surprise awaits - first was a basket of lavender pillow spray, hand cream and lip balm, other nights were various food and drink items. The plunge pool was delightful, and the lounging space on our patio very enjoyable, with a spectacular view of the caldera and Skaros Rock. We weren't too bothered by the passersby, though I did consider the proximity to the public pathway when leaving things out to dry. We only went up to the main pool once; with only 16 loungers, it tends to fill up. Rooms are serviced twice daily but, surprisingly, the second service did not include fresh towels for cleaning up before dinner.

We did have an unusual experience our first night, settled in bed with the reading lights on, when the lighting system went crazy. The bathroom lights started going on and off, and then the whole room. A midnight visit from maintenance couldn't fix it, so their only solution was to disconnect all the lights. Sadly they didn't have any flashlights to offer, so we were left with our phones as the only light source til morning. We cracked the shutters open slightly to get dressed, and fortunately they were able to fix it during breakfast, as the hotel was fully booked and changing rooms not an option.

There is a creative breakfast menu that changes daily (table service, not a buffet), and they will also make whatever else you might prefer, if those choices don't appeal. The setting is spectacular, overlooking the caldera - Imerovigli being the highest village has a truly spectacular view, I don't know why folks trek out to Oia for sunset. Breakfast service was gracious and well-intended, but almost comically inept. Coffee or tea is the first, most basic question at any breakfast - yet every day, this took multiple attempts to execute. One person would ask, then five minutes later, someone else would ask again. One pot of water for tea showed up, but the other pot took another ten minutes. Waiting for tea, they twice tried to deliver coffee. One person would ask our room number, then another asked again (this on the fourth day of our stay, by which time other hotels' staff knew us and our preferences on sight). Apologies profusely offered for the various delays and confusion. Again, not a huge deal, but surprising for a hotel of this caliber. Oh, and I later noted it was described as a "champagne breakfast" but we were never offered champagne (which I would have declined anyway). If you want a quick breakfast, pay the charge to have it delivered to your room - it came in about 15 minutes, everything as requested.

The staff is otherwise very attentive and helpful, happy to arrange dinner reservations, transportation, or whatever. This really shone through when I hurt my back, and then had a bout of stomach flu or food poisoning for a day. Eleni, who handled our check-in, was very solicitous and offered to provide any kind of food that I might be able to eat. I thought I might tolerate some chicken and rice soup, and they graciously prepared a bowl and sent it to the room, complimentary. They provided a big bag of ice for my back, then Eleni sent someone to the pharmacy to get a cold pack for me. I really appreciated the concern and caring gestures.

Room Tip: Avoid room 51 due to its location at eye level on the public pathway to Skaros Rock.
