We spent 8 night in this hotel. Puy Saint Vincent is a lovely village, small and quiet in the middle of an impressive and beautiful mountain landscape. There is a little supermarket just five minutes from the hotel (on foot).

The atmosphere was very relaxed, we felt quite at home. The hotel is well located if you want to hike: you can start your hike @ the hotel or drive to one of the starting points in the area (one of our favorites was the hike to Des Bans, a 4 km climb takes you to a lovely refuge where you can have a drink or have a meal, truly a hidden gem. Thanks to Niels for the good advice).

The restaurant is amazing: the view of the mountains is priceless, we enjoyed it very much during breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was good: bread, pastries, fruit, cheese, meat, jam, cereals. We especially liked the coffee, a hotel with bad coffee is a distaster for us, no need to worry about it @ Saint-Roch.
We also liked the evening meal: three courses and the food was really good. You can ask for an alternative dish if there's something on the menu you don't like.

We stayed in one of the rooms that has been renovated, it is really nice: comfortable bed, enough storage and a lovely bathroom with a really good shower.

We stayed here half-term week, the service from all staff was brilliant, very attentive. The rooms although a bit dated ,were very clean and comfortable. The owners are hoping to update the rooms to the lovely standards of downstairs soon.
We did the all inclusive option, which with teenagers was well worth it. The food and drink were impressive, they were very accommodating and offered to change menu's etc if needed.
For skiing, you could'nt ask for better access to the slopes, with ski lockers that open onto the ski lift!
Would definitely recommend!

Room Tip: Ours overlooked the slopes, great atmosphere.

Personal attention really matters., while skiing Puy St. Vincent ski resort, my stay at the Saint Roch (1400m) was effortless. It is clear that Yvonne and her staff put great effort in guest details. Making your stay memorable comes easy here with pleasant and accommodating staff who go out of their way to contribute to a family friendly atmosphere. A tonne of Games in the bookshelf, a roaring hearth in the lounge/restaurant. Saint Roch is communally fun, offering an atmosphere highly conducive to sharing conversation over a glass of Wine/ Beer while touting your version of the days ski runs. Breakfast is a classic; a help yourself smorgasbord of beautiful meats, cheeses, salmon, Boulangerie goods, cereals, yogurts, and eggs any way YOU want to make them. Dinner is a 3 course affair and never disappoints, Duck, Fish, and Meats with wonderful sauces as mains; all elegantly presented. After a long day of gliding the slopes it is an absolute pleasure to sit in the common dining area at long sturdy mountain pine tables surrounded by widows presenting a premier alpine view. Rooms are tidy and spacious enough, beds very comfortable. Housekeeping staff keeps you well stocked. T.V. is pointless and Wifi for those who need it?...operates just fine.

It was pure delight to rest my head at St. Roch after skiing and I look forward to a summer return; to further explore the "Pays De Ecrin". This place is genuine and a real deal for active mountain people...especially in a group/family setting.

What a wonderful stay I had...Saint Roch is an undiscovered gem of a mountain hotel...and all for a price that puts American mountain ski resorts to shame...I can say that......Because I know.

The hotel is being upgraded in stages, the main areas are in an excellent standard and are comfortable and modern. The rooms are a little dated but impeccably clean and really just what you need for a night rest after skiing. The food was without doubt the best I have tasted and the variety was perfect. The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond. The area surrounding the hotel was clean and it was so close to the ski lifts it was a real bonus. The ski school was efficient and based locally so it was really ideal for all levels. We will definity go back and would recommend this hotel and it's lovely family environment to everyone. The ski hire shop was next door and were very helpful and patient while new skiers and old hired their skis etc and changed them happily if the fit was not quite right.

Room Tip: The annex rooms face the slopes and lifts! Step out your door and you are there!
