We enjoyed our stay at Broadstairs, serendipity gave us a base to explore the area and enjoy the beach. The beach is literally only moments away, which was great, especially for the children. The house was well appointed and their was plenty of room for all of us, my children, son in law and two grandchildren. The rooms were nice, comfy beds, lots of loos( always useful!) and the downstairs area was large enough for us all
The house was gorgeous, there was plenty of room and it was well equipped. Big enough for us all to go off and chill alone if we needed to. The house is very comfortable and it had a wonderful calm and peaceful feel to it. 8 of us visited and we had a wonderful time. Fantastic location 2 min stroll from beach, bars, restaurants and shops. The beach and house was perfect for us and we had a really fun and chilled weekend there. We would all def recommend this lovely house to others . Beth was great and kept in touch.
Thank you so much..
The location was good for beach, shops and restaurants and the house was absolutely lovely. We felt immediately at home and the owner was always available to answer queries. We've just booked for next year!
As a family of 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 granny and 2 dogs we stayed at Rectory Cottage in late May. The house was close to the beach and town centre it was lovely to be able to walk along the beach first thing in the morning as dogs are allowed on until 10am. Parking was difficult but the owner did make us aware of this. The overall standard of cleanliness was ok the kitchen and bathrooms were clean although there were signs of mould and mildew in the ensuite shower and down stairs toilet and on moving a chair to make more room it became clear that furniture wasn't moved very often a lot of dust, dirt and Children's toys were present!! On arrival we did note that the wheelie bin was almost full so we had to store household rubbish in the downstairs toilet. Unfortunately a vase got blown over in the wind but the owner was happy for it to be replaced which we did. We did report that the freezer didn't appear to be working properly and that we had to throw away food that had been put in it but didn't get much of a response about that. The tv upstairs also did not work not a massive issue but I feel that should of been mentioned. The only shower was located on the top floor and was a bit tight for my partner. Beds were comfy but bedrooms were lacking in storage. No where to keep bikes so we just had to keep them locked together in the front garden. Rear garden was small and had a strong smell of dog urine. It was a bit unpleasant if the neighbours were in as their cigarette smoke would waft in through the patio doors which we liked to have open as we were very lucky with some fabulous weather. Had a good week mainly due to the glorious weather, great walks and bike rides. My mother was mortified when she realised she had packed 2 towels belonging to the owner thinking they were the children's I did message the owner straight away but got no response they were returned washed a few days later. What completely ruined the end to our only holiday of the year was the the owner claiming £75 of our damage deposit for 'excessive dog hair' she claimed the dog hair that was left behind took an extra 5 cleaning hours to hoover. We did not hoover all over before we left and my son's new shorts had dropped some fluff but we figured the house had to be hoovered before the next arrivals so it'd be ok. Tripadvisor could not see from the photos the owner provided that there was a problem and the first receipt for extra cleaning provided was for kitchen tap connectors!! Tripadvisor are really difficult to communicate with we sent them plenty of evidence but in the end after much stress on our part the owner got her way. In all the years we have rented holiday homes we have never encountered anything like this we were dealing with an owner who would rather sweep the floor with a dustpan and brush and take a picture than just get the hoover out.
