I'm really surprised that this apartment is not booked out more. It had everything we look look for in a rental - and more!
From the start, owner Fotis was very helpfull in our email contact.
On arrival, he was there to greet us, show us around the apartment, answer all our questions. He even walked us to the supermarket around the corner.
Fotis texted after a couple of days just to make sure everything was ok.
The apartment is just as good as the photos, but it is the small details that really impressed.
Supplies of just about anything you might need or have forgotten. From Kitchen roll to toothpaste, it was all there.
A welcome pack of wine and pastries was on the table.
Slightly surprised to see that the A/C unit is in the kitchen area rather than the living area, but as it's all open plan, the cool air gets to you....eventually!
FYI, you are in a block of apartments, so there is some ambient noise from other residents.
The walls are paper thin, so if you speak Greek, you can join in the conversation..
This is just an observation, not a critisism. Even the best hotels have paper thin walls,
The only suggestion I would have for Fotis is to provide a "welcome folder". This is something alot of rental properties provide and we find it very useful.
The folder usually has tourist info stuff such as restaurant recommendations, what food shops are nearby, local attraction leaflets for days out, bus times etc.
Now, most of these Fotis covered on our arrival, and other stuff can be found online before arrival, but not everyone is computer savvy, and after a long trip, you may not remember everything the owner tells you when you arrive. So, it would be a help for those folk.
So as a wee help, the supermarket is a fair size, stocks alot and is cheap.
The bakery is two minutes away and is just fab. I went every morning for my breakfast bread.
There is a bus stop 5 minutes away which will take you to Lindos. This means you don't have to walk all the way to the main bus stop in the town centre.
Location is always important. While you do not have a sea view, you are in a quiet street, so little traffic.
The upside for us is that it is 10 minutes walk to the old town and all it has to offer The old town has much more character, the new town could also be known as Anywheretown.
But each to their own.
But, this apartment is fabulous value for what you get and I would happily recommend
