Popped in here for a quick lunch whilst visiting Rhodes in October with my family. Good but not intrusive service, friendly young waiter Savvas (Chelsea fan!) food was good & plenty of it and good value about 35 Euros for 3 of us with drinks, lots of Greeks eating here - always a good sign, great for people watching, opposite entrance for Roloi clock tower in old town. Recommended.

went to Mama Sofias having read reviews before we went on holiday. From the minute we arrived we were treated like royalty, Stavros our host said he would look after us and he did, we had the mixed seafood platter and shared a starter of creamed mushrooms. It was the best night of our holiday. The food was fantastic, the mixed seafood is worth the money, you get a lot to eat.

Many restaurants in Old Town offer poor quality food for a rip-off price, but this restaurant is an exception. We went to Mama Sofia after visiting the Palace of Grand Masters, being completely exhausted, and were warmly welcomed and ushered to the roof garden, which had an excellent view. We were so hungry, and decided to order a big seafood plate. OK, it is not cheap (99 euro), but you can see it is worth the money by our photo. The best caramari we ever had, one big robster, mussels cooked in white wine, succulent grilled fish... There were three of us; other than this, we ordered a small plate of starters and bread; but this seafood plate was so enormous we just managed to finish it and were completely full. The waiter was very attentive, they gave us a complementary dessert (fruit and icecream), so we were utterly satisfied. There are dodgy restaurants around the Palace, but don't pay attention to them and go straightly to Mama Sofia.

In the heart of Old Town a humble Greek restaurant with generous owners. They try to satisfy the customers with free of charge appetizers. We tasted a seafood with a different strange look and a very good taste in this restaurant. We paid around 40 euros for three persons. We recommend
