Located in the centre of Adamas port (which actually is the main problem), it's a very good choice. You can go from there everywhere in the port of Milos, by foot. It has recently renovated, is clean and the rooms are comfortable. The staff was friendly but the breakfast rather poor. Major problem the parking at high season in summer.

There are no words to describe the negative aspects of this hotel, which is summer season is very very expensive. I will try to make a list:
1) Rooms not soundproofed. You can here everything of what happen in the other rooms and in the below restaurant/square
2) Towels very dirty
3) After the daily cleaning the windows are left opened and when you come back in the evening you find flies and mosquitoes into the room
4) Very old furnitures
5) very cool in the winter (I was there in end November). The heating system was not working and I was given a portable electric heating unit (fortunately).

We came for a rest of our own summer season in end of November 2019, to visit the island of Milos with incredible beaches and people.
We found a very: central of all, cosy, friendly and clean Hotel for all our needs. Katharina the owner and her team, have fulfilled all our extra wishes, including a change to a softer mattress. You saved my back, thanks!

This is the perfect location for your stay in Adamas. Portiani is right on the water, with wonderful panoramic views over the bay from the big balcony on the top floor. This is a great place for an aperitif as you watch the boats returning to port and the changing colours as the sun sets over the village. Rooms are spacious, very clean and there is plenty of storage room. We had a little lounge room, too, with another balcony facing the village. The waterfront bars, cafes and restaurants are a few steps away, in either direction. Breakfasts are delicious and a great variety of hot and cold food is available. All staff are really friendly and helpful. We loved Poratiani and hope to return. It was the highlight of our recent trip to Europe.
Very friendly people, excellent service, very comfortable and clean rooms and unforgettable breakfast. The view to the sea was memorable, without traffic to interfere. Quiet and cosy. Highly recommended.
Although the Hotel Portiani is not the most up to date or well appointed hotel, it has something about it that makes you love it. We felt instantly at home there, the staff are lovely and very helpful, (shout out to our lovely Orange Juice Lady who made us fresh orange every morning). We had a room at the back of the hotel so no view. but it was cooler and quieter than one of the port facing ones which we preferred. It was clean and very comfortable, especially the beds (not too hard as they often can be in Greece). They also provide you with nice quality beach towels to take out during the day in a handy drawstring bag, wish more hotels would do this. The main plus point of this hotel is the incredible array of food presented for breakfast (even when there was an overnight power cut. they still managed an unbelievable amount of food!) lots of Greek specialities both savoury and sweet, the usual cereal, yoghurt and fruit, breads, cakes, fresh tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, and they will in addition make you any type of coffee you want, eggs and bacon etc, you are completely spoilt for choice! The location is also excellent as you are right in the main square, with taxis and buses outside and all the restaurants, bars and shops within short walking distance. Yes, there are probably more picturesque and luxurious places to stay, but if you want a great location and a friendly and comfortable base and you are spending most of your time out and about, you can't go wrong with the Portiani.
