We went with our daughter and her husband and really enjoyed our stay. The house is in quick walking distance of everything in the town such as the different restaurants plus bars and backs onto the ramparts, allowing easy access to the town wall. The garage which could accommodate the car with a roofbox was a real bonus and whilst slightly fiddly to access kept everything safe. Having stayed in some of the local hotels in the past this is a much better choice and better value for money if you like more space. The house offers a range of facilities such as the microwave, cooker, TV, plenty of towels and three clean airy bedrooms. Yes we'll be booking this property again.
Great place for a short and long stay in the Montreuil sur Mer. Sylvie was very accommodating, like a home from home. Ideal location for visiting the Somme. We wished to stay longer. The house has spacious rooms especially the bedrooms. Thank you Sylvie for sharing your home.

We had a thoroughly relaxed and enjoyable stay in this home that is handily situated just a minute's walk from the main square of Montreuil-sur-Mer. It used to be a family home but is now set up for holiday rentals. It has all the amenities you might want including satellite TV and wifi, and a fully equipped kitchen.
It has been set up to a high standard and we can recommend this as a more relaxed alternative to a hotel stay. We were greeted by the house owner Sylvie and her husband and welcomed with a complimentary bottle of red wine and a delicious jar of homemade stawberry jam (goes wonderfully with freshly baked croissants). There is an excellent patisserie 200 metres from the front door and there are some excellent restaurants in easy walk. We can recommend the Froggy Tavern and Le Darnetal.
If you haven't been to Montreuil before, do not be fooled by the "sur-mer". It might have been by the sea at one time but that was a long time ago. It is now around a 20 minute drive away.
It is a lovely fortified town with it's main features including the ramparts that encircle the town, the Citadel and it's cobbled streets. There are steps to the Ramparts right behind the house and from there you can go on a lovely walk right the way round bringing you back to your starting point. We believe it is about three kilometres and so will take between 40 minutes to an hour. We can recommend stopping off at the Le Pot du Clape on the way round for lunch. They specialise in home made soups and a range of wonderful quiches.
We used this as a base to visit the glorious beaches, market and shops of Le Touquet as well as the large British War Graves cemetry at L-Etaples.
Overall we have nothing but good things to stay about the town and also about this home from home. Would happily book this again.
A very warm welcome on arrival from the owner of these houses is always a great start and Sylvie did not disappoint there along with a bottle of wine and some delicious home made jam.
The house is nicely decorated, well equipped and very well located in this lovely town.
My wife and daughter and I stayed here for one night in November. Sylvie, the friendly owner, met us and showed us round the house. It was made very nice and warm for us and is spotlessly clean. The three bedrooms are large, comfortable and warm. The kitchen is well equipped.
The house is in a great location in Montreuil; right by the ramparts and only a short walk from the main square. We walked everywhere. The house is not elaborate but very comfortable. It is unbeatable value. The only comment I would make is that there is one shower and that is downstairs but there is a basin and loo upstairs.
We have stayed in several different hotels and BnBs in Montreuil and will definitely return to this house for its simplicity, comfort, location and value. Thanks Syvlie.
