We've had a great time
A lovely part of France with so much to do
Excellent advice from hosts & just enough support - not over bearing - great accommodation & setting & having a great time
Great welcome , felt like home , kids loved the games room . Lovely, quiet, and very pretty village ,liked it so much booked to go there again in June .
Fabulous all round, from the welcome you receive on arriving, to the warm and comfy appartment. The games room is an added bonus great for all ages. This is lovely area of France with so much to see and do and the gite is well positioned to take advantage of the area.
Don't bypass this area via the motorway, it has so much to offer - great beaches at Hardelot, Wissant and le Touquet and interesting places to visit - Boulogne, la Coupole, montreuil etc. 15 mins walk to chocolate factory, 10 mins drive to leclerc supermarket. Having said all that about the area - the gite has everything you could ever need and more - even surf boards and nets for the beach. The shared washing machine and tumble dryer was a bonus too.Wifi was a godsend both for the kids and checking out places to visit. Jaz and Mia loved meeting up with the other kids in the games room and outside at the end of a busy day to chat and chill. Great friends were made, Jack, Lillie, heather and Daniel the owners son. They even had a leaving party on the last night and I'm sure they will all keep in touch! Laurence and Helen have thought of everything and more with the gites, they deserve every success in the future with all the hard work and time they put in.
Laurence and Helen are the perfect hosts, they are full of information on this beautiful part of France. The Gites are lovely and comfortable and have lots of extras you don't normally get when renting a property abroad. The games room is a fun place to keep the kids occupied in the late evenings. The outside area is for all ages and you can sit and supervise young children while they use the play equipment. The Gites are set back from a quiet country lane in a lovely village. The Pizza Van that visits the village on a Tuesday evening serves excellent food ( a real hit with the kids ). The surrounding area is full of things to do and has easy access as well as ample parking wherever you visit. Le Touqet was one of our favourites, beautiful tree lined streets full of flowers filled grass verges and a nice beach. Berck is a more traditional seaside resort with some nice shops too and a local market set in the side streets once a week. The Chateau Museum at Boulogne is well worth a visit ( 10 Euros for 2 adults, 2 teenagers and an 8 year old ), as well as the Cathedral close by to it with its beautiful dome. There are lovely restaurants close by to the Cathedral and a beautiful garden in the square. Auchen Hypermarket is a better option than Cite d'Europe, Montreuil (Les Miserables) is worth the visit and has some historic buildings and lovely streets. There really is a lot to see and do in this part of France and Laurence and Helen will give you good sound advice and always point you in the right direction. An up to date sat nav will ensure you have no problems when getting to and from the lovely surroundings on offer here. A big thank you from all of us for a lovely stay with two of the nicest hosts we have ever met. We can highly recommend what they offer for people of all ages seeking a lovely holiday in a beautiful part of the world.
