After being flooded out last year, I'd said "Never again" to camping.
The two kids (teenage) still wanted to get under canvas though, so this seemed like a pretty good compromise.
Well, it was a lot better than that. We had a really great time.
1 - The site is in a beautiful part of the country
2 - The owners are really friendly and great fun
3 - The yurts are nicely made, very solid, dry and warm.
4 - There is plenty of space for privacy if you want it
5 - There is also plenty of opportunity to be sociable, with a communal hot tub (which we used every night) and fire pit.
All in all, it was our best holiday in years. And so reasonably priced that we had plenty left over for treats.
Positives - Clean bedding and comfy beds. Log-fire hot tub, all the stuff you'll need for cooking. The hot tub - what a wonderful treat!
Negatives - Fairy lights and tea lights provided very feeble light. I would recommend bringing a 12W off-grid solar panel and lighting system - very cheap online.
Warning - The hot tub chimney has no protective sleeve. Watch out for burns when you've had a couple of drinks!
