“Lovely location”
Reviewed 22 October 2011 for a stay in October 2011

Villa Lisidor is a lovely old villa located at the top of a hill. The views are gorgeous (would be even better if the high hedge was cut down), and the property is very private. The old caretaker takes good care of the house, which was very clean with everything you could need. We were 3 adult couples and the two bathrooms and 1 extra toilet worked well for us. Recommendations for improvement would be reading lights by the sofa in the corner as well as a replacement of the beds, which, although acceptable, were showing their age.
Our dog (and us) greatly enjoyed the large enclosed garden as well as walks through the vineyards.
Radda in Chianti is a lovely little town with great restaurants and everything you need, and nearby Lecchi has an excellent wineshop with a very charismatic owner. We warmly recommend booking a wine tasting at the small winery Casanova di Ama, which was a great experience.

“We had a great time”
Reviewed 15 March 2011 for a stay in October 2010

We celebrated the fiftieth Anniversary of our parents and rented this wonderful house in the hills of Tuscany. The house lies in the middle of a vinyard with a beautiful view from the first floor. Unfortunately you can't see the scenery from the pool area because a "bush-fence"surrounds the property. Which is good for the privacy, but a pity for the view. The rooms are big and nicely furnished. Two bathrooms have showers and the third has a sink with a toilet. The big fireplace in the living room has a real Tuscan touch and we used it quite often, because we had quite cool weather. We really enjoyed playing tennis on the private court just close to the house.
The housekeeper was really nice and very helpfull. There a some shops about a ten minute drive away and you definetly need a car.The only thing we sort of missed was a better equipped kitchen. If you stay in spring or autumn, just as we did, it can be pretty fresh inside the house because it has very small and few windows. Nevertheless we can really recommend this house.

“Atmospheric Tuscany”
Reviewed 7 March 2011 for a stay in April 2010

We stayed in Villa LisiDor over easter 2010. Our host Petra Giacone was always prompt in replying to emails re our booking. She was very accommodating when we requested dates outside her normal rental guidelines and when the villa we requested was not available she offered us the larger LisiDor at the same (lesser) price. We were met and shown around by her groundsman who spoke no English and we spoke no Italian but that didn't matter. We had a wonderful weekend visiting nearby villages and cooking local produce in the small but well equipped kitchen. The villa was very roomy and so typically Tuscan. I could see it as a great place for a large family group or friends to have a wonderful holiday and equally perfect for a romantic getaway. Petra was always available via phone if we had questions. The website is not joking when they say you must have your own transport, the villa is down a long country road off the main road. I would also recommend that if visiting in the winter, as we did, you buy the firewood offered. We used the tennis court but not the pool.

“fabulous!”
Reviewed 28 February 2011 for a stay in August 2010

the house is set in a beautiful location and is just how we expected it. the rooms were large, with twin beds or double beds and all but one had fantastic views from the window. the beds were very comfortable. the top room has a stunning view of the vineyards. we made use of the tennis court, which again has spectacular views across the vineyard. the pool was a good size and kept clean regularly. i would definately recommend this house to anyone wishing to stay in a very peaceful location. the weather was hot each day (about 30C). we did go out most days, enjoying long lunches in some of the pretty villages nearby. we were lucky enough to see the palio in siena, a great experience for all the family (we have two teenagers and one younger aged 10). infact the historical town of siena is such a beatuiful place we went there a few times during our two week stay and highly recommend anyone to visit there. there are infact so many beautiful places to see which are only a 20 mins or so drive away, so the house is in a perfect location. the nearest village of radda was approx. a ten minute drive for bank, basic food etc. and a restaurant. i would definately like to return to this villa one day. it is perfect for a large family.
