A pure joy. Le Contrade was our best dining experience in Tuscany. A beautiful view from the hill top and food to match. The taste and presentation were Michelin star quality. If you go to one fine restaurant in Tuscany make it this one. A note on getting there, if you are coming from the north work your way west before you tell your GPS to find the restaurant and you will avoid some dirt road.

Chef Andrea personally greeted us when we ate here 10 days ago. He explained the ingredients in each dish which were all excellent. The gnocchi with truffles was superb. As was everything else, the boned quail, venison, beef filet , even the amuse bouche of leek soup and cream. We ordered two excellent and very reasonable priced bottles of Castello di Ama rose which was a great accompaniment on what was a very warm fall day. This is one of the best restaurants we have eaten at in Tuscany - and we have visited a number on our annual visits to Chianti over the last four years. The restaurant is about a kilometre out of Gaiole and you need to keep your eyes peeled for the sign and sharp left turn up a farm lane. But, what a treat!

Truly an amazing meal. The chef come out and personal explained the menu to us. He gave us a little talk about his cooking style. You can tell he has a real passion for cooking. All the veggies were fresh from the garden. He told us to please excuse the salad because the greens were a bit small due the drought this summer. They sent out a complimentary round of gin and tonic with rosemary before the meal. I think it is my new favorite drink. Definitely a great option if you are looking for a unique dining experience. One disclaimer, we had booked a reservation on Quandoo which was linked to their website. I made the reservation 2 months in advance. But when we got there he said they didn't have the reservation. They still accommodated us. But he said it was better book directly with the restaurant.

Came here with my wife after a local recommendation. The whole experience from start to finish was magical. The food was a beautifully modern twist on classic tuscan flavours and presented Service was exceptional and the wine was also delicious.
One of the best meals of our trip.
Highly recommended.

BETTER THAN MICHELIN! AMAZING! NO WORDS CAN EXPRESS! FANTASTIC... WE WENT CRAZY
Great service, food is cooked from the heart & takes you to another place. Chef Andrea is just superb! We cried from how good the flavors & combinations were. This dinner experience topped our holiday in Chianti. How can this place not have any Michelin stars?! The world is so unfare. Duck and venison are a must try. The desert is chocolate fondue but oh my... chocolate fantasy!
