Have to agree with previous reviews that this hotel's character is a bit old style but not the worse for it. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Pietro in the restaurant was very friendly (his wife comes from Sevenoaks!) and Gianni on front of house was very good in arranging us two transfers to and from Bari Airport. Hotel is clean and we had room 16 overlooking the pool. Spacious room with good shower and bed was comfy. There is a Fridge with a Mini Bar but there are no tea and coffee making facilities.
Pool was a decent size and good for swimming (some sun beds could do with being replaced though) There are also no parasols available so shade is hard to find if the pool is busy but we had it to ourselves on many occasions. The gardens are well kept but the gardener with his leaf blower could be annoying but that's a minor gripe. Breakfast is adequate, nothing over fancy but lots of local delicacies. cheese, ham etc. They will do scrambled eggs etc if you ask but hot food is not readily available.
Location is perfect, being just a 10 minute walk from the main hub of the town where there are plenty of restaurants. Al Bacareto is a great bar and does a wonderful Aperol Spritz for 4 Euros and terrific Bruschetta too. Atmosphere is very relaxed everywhere and we never felt intimidated at any time even walking back to the hotel very late at night.
