Nice Chalet, Great service, nice people
Really well located, close to lobster pot lifts to reach ski area
We went to Chalet Himalaya at the end of January 2015 with a group of 13 mid 20s friends including a few couples too.
Having never been skiing before, I was naturally intimidated by the amount of organisation that the trip would require (ski hire, ski passes, transfers... and the rest!). However, once we had booked our week at Chalet Himalaya the rest of the organisation became easy as pie thanks to Mark and Cathy. They sorted out our ski hire, ski passes and picked all 13 of us up from the airport. While we were there, they recommended a restaurant for the chalet day off (and booked it for us) as well as booking taxis for us when we were going out late. They made everything so simple.
The chalet was beautiful and had everything we needed. A large communal space for us to socialise with a large hot tub we could fit most of us in! Sauna too. The food (breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner) was delicious and the wine was quite good especially as it was free pour during dinner! The beds were comfortable and we all slept fine so no complaints there.
As I said earlier, Mark and Cathy were great hosts and were able to help with anything from where best to ski and where to eat. They even advised us on where to get a lovely in-chalet massage.
Peisey Village is a lovely little village, however the location would probably be the only slight drawback to the chalet. During daytime hours it's easy to get to Plan Peisey but after the last ski lifts (around 17:30) the "lobster pots" that take you from the chalet to Plan Peisey also close which mean it is less practical to stay in the higher resorts until later in the evening and there are only really 2 bars in Peisey village (but Greg's is a great night). You can get back from other resorts by bus or taxi if you wanted though so don't let it be a detractor, if anything it just means you get even more value for your money in Peisey than you would in a higher resort.
We had a lovely time and will surely be returning to Chalet Himalaya if we return to Peisey / Les Arcs in the future.

Chalet Himalaya is a great place to stay if you want a authentic French ski chalet. The decor and facilities are first rate modern and kept immaculately clean.
Kathy and Mark are superb hosts Kathy's food is of top restaurant standard, and Mark couldn't do more to accommodate all the guests.
Although the chalet is not on the piste it's only a short ride on a lift to be in the centre of Plan Peissy.
Fab place to stay thanks Mark and Kathy's we will be back !
This is the second time we've been, the chalet is clean, comfortable & spacious, the food was excellent and both us & the children were made to feel very welcome, we like it so much that we've already booked our third trip!

Chalet Himalaya was a fantastic base for our ski trip. Right from the off we were greeted at the airport and had private transfers straight to out front door which meant no waiting around at the airport and a speedy transfer. The chalet itself was beautiful and well kitted out. Having the hottub was a joy & the fire is huge. The rooms themselves were of a very high quality with good quality sheets and fantastic showers in the bathrooms, which makes all the difference either end of the day.
There was cake/tea/coffee waiting for us every day when we came in from the slopes and a different breakfast and fantastic 4 course meal every evening (including lots of cheese!!!). I would encourage anybody thinking about staying at Himalaya not to worry about the location: the lifts up to Plan Peisey are only 5-10 mins away and skiis/boots can be left at the top of the lift at the 2000 shop. Everything was very of the highest quality and we had no real issues on the trip. But to be honest the most defining part of the trip was the hosts themselves. Kathy and Mark were a really joy to be around right through the week. It felt more like moving into somebodys home than staying at a catered chalet. They took us out to the best parts of the mountain in the daytime and were on hand to give us all the useful little bits of info and tips to make sure we got the most out of our holiday.
Probably the most hospitable hosts I have ever stayed with. Fantastic trip!
