nice rest for young parents willing to have some time off. the staff of mmv was very helpful and nice, the only thing missing were toilettes on the same floor as the restaurant. We needed to go downstairs every time with kids during the meal

This hotel is located close to the lifts and village amenities. Staff throughout the hotel were both very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and the rooms were clean and of an acceptable standard given this is a skiing hotel. Staff went out of their way to make the few Brits staying in the hotel very welcome and comfortable. The boot room was secure and well equipped. Drinks at the hotel bar were reasonably priced, compared to the rest of the resort.

We booked through Crystal ski December 10th and got a good deal, £407@ and lift pass £225 for trip 13th-20th january Birmingham to Geneva. On arrival at hotel we knew that check in was not untill 6pm but i think crystal need to address this rather than drop guests off at about lunch time and leave then wandering around. Hotel is better than we thought compared to past reviews. We requested a top floor room with a view and that is what we got, room 405, family large room, balcony view of ice rink. The room was hot! heating worked and so did the shower!! word of warning use plenty of cold.... The restaurant food was ok with wine on tap, the breakfast is quite simple but if you like a fry up you are out of luck. Bar prices are very reasonable compared to the resorts bars and cafes which are typically expensive. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful despite limited english and our limited french, but it was fun trying to use our small vocabulary. Gregory the hotel director gave us a tour or the resataurant, nice chap. We found the bar area to be a little charmless and unfortunately as reported by others there are quite a few children running arround the tables so keep an eye on your drinks. Locker room ok with key provided to secure your board or skis along with a boot room, however i kept my board and boots in our room. Access to lifts is ok, out of the hotel and left is the orange lift up to Foret area and quick walk takes you to the Grand Vans chair lift. Overall this is a good hotel for the 2/3star rating, dont be put off by older reviews as we feel the hotel has addressed previous comments. We will happily return to the hotel and met some friendly brits to drink and dine with.

Room Tip: top floor 4th, ice rink view, away from the lift, balcony.

Hotel provides all the essentials. Easy access to slopes, bars and restaurants. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Eco-friendly hotel, towels and sheets changed once a week! Beds were not particularly comfortable which is needed for a Ski holiday. All in all, not a bad stay.

Just returned from a very enjoyable week at this hotel 20.1.18. We travelled with crystal ski and got a good deal, which included a half price lift pass (6 days is €246.00 ifbooked at lift pass office with a 10% discount if 10 or more book)

We booked our skis on line with Ski Set, Flaine Forum before we set off, saving a considerable amount compared to crystals prices and the price the shop would charge if you were to walk in from the street, we paid £67.00 for ours but beginner skis were about half that if booked on line. This ski shop is about a two minute walk from the hotel towards the slopes, so easy to return them as well at the end of the week.

Our flight was to Geneva which is about 1hr 30 mins transfer time to the resort. On arrival at about 1.30 pm we were told that our rooms may not be ready until about 6pm, no real problem for 4 adults, so we left our luggage in a secure area and went off to find something to eat. After about 2hrs we met another couple who had arrived at the same time who told us that their rooms were now ready, we returned to the hotel to find that ours were too.

The hotel is a bit dated but clean, ours was a family room even though there were only two of us, it had a double bed and bunk beds, was quite spacious (for us) sufficient wardrobe space and shelves. Ours had a bath come shower, basin bidet and toilet. There was a large wall mounted TV which had a few English channels BBC ITV etc, also there was free wifi which we could access in our room.

We also had a small balcony, which some rooms do not have, we were situated at the rear (room 304) and had nice views of the slopes and mountains. The room was well heated, too hot sometimes, and the water in the bath/shower was always hot as well. There was no hair drier supplied in the bathroom though. Electrical sockets are a bit scarce, which is usually the norm, but what I do is take a small 4 way uk extension lead and European adapter and use the lead for any electrical items i.e. Phone charger etc.

I have no complaints with the food, we were half board, breakfast was the usual buffet continental fayre, cheeses, meats, croissants, bread, scrambled eggs bacon, hard boiled eggs, cereals. There was a toaster and microwave, coffee machine, hot and cold milk and hot water. The evening meal was again buffet style, but usually a themed night ie Mexican Italian etc you could have as much rose, white or red wine as you wanted with your meal, but I'm sure wine drinkers wouldn't be overawed with the quality.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and their service was good, so no complaints there.

The hotel is a short walk from the slopes at that level, or you could get the venicular lift up to Flaine Foret, about a minute walk from the hotel and a two minute ride to the top in order to get the chair lift or bubble to the top of the mountain.

The first two days were sunny and the conditions were excellent, however on the third day it snowed and was windy so the lifts to the top along with the access lifts to the other areas were closed, the lower lifts were open but the visibility was restricted at the top and only got better lower down, so as a result we had to remain in the Flaine bowl. It continued snowing until the day we left, but the wind dropped so more lifts and runs were open.

Can't really comment about the night life though the bowling alley/sports bar does have a large screen and shows the premier league football matches or you can go bowling if you wish at €18 per person (Jan 18 price)

Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and ski area
