“Spacious, charming and authentic apartment in lovely Pezenas”
Reviewed 13 October 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed in Apartment Francois for a week this summer. We were five people, and the owner, Sandra, kindly arranged so that we could use the sofa bed in the living room in addition to the two bedrooms. This worked really well, the airconditioning was efficient (and needed), and extra fans helped to vent the bedrooms. The apartment is surprisingly spacious compared to what you expect inside a medieval town in Southern France. It is tastefully decorated and well equipped. Two bathrooms are very convenient. We didn´t organize many home dinners, but the kitchen was really inviting to home cooking. In the morning, we became regular customers at the boulangerie around the corner (and there were plenty of others to choose from), with its flavory, artisan bread and croissants - one of the great treats of the French cuisine - and had nice and slow breakfasts in the morning sun in the living room. At night, we were tempted by the large selection of good restaurants, which are literally right up the street at the charming main square in the old town. The gelateria Glaces de Sophie quickly earned its place as a family favorite. The apartment is an excellent starting point for exploring the city of Pezenas and the whole region. Since the weather was very hot we made daily trips to the beaches between Séte and Agde, we enjoyed the beach but we also enjoyed coming back, and go for a lazy afternoon walk in the buzzing town. We can definitely recommend both Pezenas and the apartment!

“The Honeymoon of our dreams”
Reviewed 12 October 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Myself and my new wife stayed for 6 nights at apartment Francois and loved every second of it. The apartment can comfortably accommodate 4 people with a double room (with lovely en suite) and a twin room. The open lounge diner/kitchen is beautifully decorated with and tastefully furnished.

The apartment has everything you could wish for from towels, to beach furniture and even a sewing kit. We loved the terrace and found it so relaxing to sit on it and listen to the live music being played in the square.

Booking was very easy and we received great communication from Sandra regarding our stay. After we left We received our deposit as promised. All in all a wonderful, experience that we will never forget.

We are already planning our next stay.

“Highlight of our holiday”

My wife and I stayed at the Appartement Francois for 9 nights in August 2015 and our grown-up children popped in for a few nights each. All of us were very impressed with both the apartment and Pezenas. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you need, including access to all the UK TV channels, and beach mats and chairs. Despite the apartment being right in the centre, there is no street noise to keep you awake - even the town clocks have their bells turned off at night. The terrace makes a big difference and its a delight to dine there at any time of the day. Pezenas was unknown to us before our trip, and I have to say it was better than any of the other towns in the vicinity. The town has lovely stone buildings, some with very interesting interiors. The centre is completely pedestrianised, with lots of craft shops and local restaurants. It only takes a couple of minutes to pop out of the apartment in the morning to pick up your breakfast baguette and croissants from the boulangerie round the corner. The main market place has a big market on a Saturday, and on the Friday nights in August that we stayed at Pezenas, it was packed with visitors enjoying the wine tasting (4€ for a glass to keep and 2 vouchers for a glass of wine from the myriad wine producers round the market - and the wine is excellent). There were also food stalls and a band or two. So, as with other comments on this site, we can 100% recommend the apartment and Pezenas.
Things to note that others perhaps haven't mentioned:
Although there is an en-suite to the main bedroom, it doesn't include a toilet which is located separately. I think this must be a French regulation or custom as all of the hotels we stayed at on our tour had a toilet in a separate room.
Pezenas has a huge number of antique shops dotted along one long street.
Don't use the French postcode to guide you to a place using your sat-nav, use the actual address instead. Unlike the UK, the French postcode system gives a rough area only and when we went to hire some bikes to go along the Canal du Midi, we ended up in a field about 4 miles away from where we wanted to be!
And most peculiarly, the sea temperature in the local beaches can be decidedly chilly. It may be 30+ on the beach, but you will find relatively few people swimming as the sea temperature is closer to what you will find in Cornwall. Seem to be a function of the shape of the coast and mountains funnelling the wind. Not that it stopped us enjoying a swim. Once the pins and needles had worn off, it was great!
In our experience, if you hire Apartment Francois you will have a lovely time.

“Better than the photos, stellar location!”
Reviewed 24 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

I spent many months researching towns and apartments in Southern France before I discovered this gem. This apartment delivers all it says in the description and MORE! My first surprise was how much bigger the apt is than I imagined. The 12 ft beamed ceilings in the kitchen/dining area and the extra high windows in every room provide wonderful light giving the whole apartment an airy flow. The master bedroom is huge with plenty of storage and a wonderful extra long tub for soaking. The apartment was immaculate with the beds made up in "ironed" sheets, loved that touch! I was also surprised at how well stocked it is. All the basic cooking spices and everything from dish soap to kleenex and foil wrap. Lots of dishes and everything a cook requires. Plus a lovely bottle of red to welcome me. I have just finished my second week here and am in love with the town. Altho winter, Pezenas is a sunny thriving community with a wonderful grocery store, cafes and art galleries. The Saturday market is a food lovers paradise. Everything is within walking distance from the apt. and the town is a mere half hour drive from some of the most beautiful sites I have seen in France. Abbys, chateaux and the Mediterranean seaside villages. The apt itself is on a cobblestone pedestrian only street and it faces one of the heritage sites called the La Costa hotel. I couldn't imagine a more comfortable home away from home and am grateful to have found such a perfect apartment for the winter!

Thank you for your comments. We were so pleased to have you stay in the apartment for the winter. (Your reaction mirrors our response when we first stayed there ourselves!) We appreciate that you noticed the extra effort that our property manager goes to to make a stay at Appartement Francois comfortable, and we hope you'll consider a return visit as you now know first hand that Pezenas has lots to offer in the cooler months as well.

“Comfortable, charming,spacious and homely”
Reviewed 29 September 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We enjoyed a long stay (8 weeks) in this beautiful apartment in the historic village of Pezenas. The owners were easy to deal with and presented us with a home away from home.
Careful attention to detail made our stay more enjoyable. The outdoor terrace was perfect for
"al fresco"dining and relaxing. The apartment is in the old village precinct and we walked to all conveniences.
We travelled to many nearby beaches and the Canal Du Midi. The distances are all around than 30 minutes from Pezenas. We are keen to return.
