“Ideal venue for celebrations or holiday with family & friends”
Reviewed 25 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We stayed in late October with family & friends for a large birthday celebrations. I struggled to find something of the right size & at a sensible price, until I found La Belardiere and what a find! We had a fantastic stay for 3 nights...I think it is difficult to find somewhere that is able to cater for the age-range we had, but we did here.
But most important aspect, the place is beautiful - Roger & Kath must have worked incredibly hard to refurbish the buildings into 2 fabulous gites. There's everything you would need to use within the kitchens, we would normally be going out, but as we had little ones we spent each evening either cooking or being catered for! I had asked Kath, if she knew of local caterers for one evening, as this was a celebration weekend & rather sheepishly she asked me if she cook for us. 'Hiding light under a bushel...!' springs to mind - absolutely lovely...we all agreed the menu in advance & it was delicious.
There is so much more to say, but in summing up, we could not have had a better stay. Kath was so helpful before we booked & during the time we stayed, that it made the weekend. We would love to return & hope that we will be able to soon...

“Brilliant in everyway”
Reviewed 3 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Over many years our large group have stayed in many French gites, The Verger and Potager at la Belardiere are the best yet. Pleasant surprise to find a lovely country outlook. This had it all, swimming pool (still warm end of sept/start of Oct).Table tennis , Badminton, bikes(good area for cycling), table football swing ball, , boules, hammocks, free fruit in orchard. The Verger inside table seated twelve as did the garden table. Ensuite were really great, enormous bathrooms. Giant beds. Lounge and kitchen also A1. Separate downstairs loo a great asset when others from Potager joined us.
Great area for touring, market somewhere every day and more chateaux than you could fit into a month. Village had some interesting cave type history plus Richard the Lionheart tower and for us a great restaurant. Tele had all the English channels.
The owners are on site which meant any problems were dealt with at once plus they were there with a wide knowledge of the area. (English French German fluent). They were extremely nice , friendly and left you alone unless you asked.
I thoroughly recommend these gites.

“The most beautiful place!”

We spent the most wonderful week here with friends & family in the last week of August.
We were met by Roger & Kath who instantly made us feel so very welcome. We stayed in the larger of the two rentals, Le Verger, a converted barn. It's enormous! We all set about exploring and choosing our bedrooms, 3 of which have big, beautiful en suites. The property was extremely well equipped with everything we could possibly need and more. A generous welcome pack was waiting for us with baguette, coffee, jam, wine and delicious extras.
The children wasted no time jumping into the beautiful swimming pool, which is extremely well looked after and surrounded by pretty pots bursting with colourful flowers. The little pool house was filled with comfortable cushions for the loungers and inflatables for the children.
As the weather was so gloriously hot we did little more than hang out by the pool every day with the occasional trip into Descartes (10 mins away) to the Super U to stock up on essentials. We did do a couple of markets, both of which were near. We also went to a near by lake for more swimming one day. The local Tabac was visited several times by ‘The Dads’ for research purposes, we were told.
We BBQ'd every night and sat outside at the large table on the deck looking out over the orchard (we were encouraged to eat the fruit) & the chickens helped clear up any crumbs.
The orchard also had hammocks, swing ball, volleyball, badminton and even croquet.
The whole week, was just fantastic. We couldn’t have wished for more.
Thank you to Roger & Kath – perfect hosts.

“Absolutely AMAZING!!”
Reviewed 10 August 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We traveled with 2 other families (6 adults and 8 children) and stayed for 5 nights. From the moment we arrived, Kath and Roger made us feel welcome. Even before we arrived they were extremely helpful in providing directions and offering any assistance.
La Belardiere was just sensational and perfect for us, from the accommodation to the facilities. The converted houses were exceptional - extremely clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. A real plus was that all the rooms had separate bathrooms. The pool area was beautiful and the pool and the grounds were kept clean and tidy every day. The kids (and adults) had a wonderful time playing volleyball, table tennis, croquet and much more. Kath and Roger were extremely helpful, especially with booking restaurants and advising us honestly about where to go and where not to. Although they also stayed on the property that was also wonderful and not a problem at all (actually wouldn't know they were there). We felt we got to know them for the short time we were there. We wished we could have stayed longer. If you want to relax in a beautiful part of the Loire where you can really experience France then I highly recommend La Belardiere!

“Great family holiday with three generations”

La Belardiere is an incredible location. The gites are beautifully finished, with every last detail thought of and the grounds are incredibly well maintained.
We found it perfect for our five month old, the cot was comfortable with a good mattress, the rooms were easily cooled, in the day time there was plenty of shade for her in all areas of the grounds and the chickens provided great amusement.

Kath and Rog have in depth knowledge of the area and we enjoyed several bike rides, runs and river swims. I am coeliac and it was very easy to eat gluten free both from the supermarket and in local restaurants.

There is comfortable seating for 10 indoors and out and plenty of crockery pots and pans making cooking and eating so easy. The showers are all brilliant, bathrooms immaculately clean, plenty of hot water.

The pool was warm enough for our 5 month old, and is lockable in case of mobile non-swimmers. There are several road bikes and mountain bikes available for use. We enjoyed a table football tournament, table tennis games and an abundance of inflatables in the pool for all ages. There are so many places to sit and relax, you can sit in the sun by the pool, in several shady hammocks and even relax on a swing.

Would highly recommend for all ages, we'd be back next year if you weren't booked up.
