In short: Not a nice place, far from the beach, dark and smelly rooms, unresponsive management. Not a hotel, may be comparable to a hostel.

In detail: Easy drive from the airport but it is a bit hidden just off the main road in Paje. We arrived in the night so I called the MOD to tell him about my arrival. A young helpful guy opened the gate once we arrived, who did not speak any English. The way too the room had no light and we had to climb up a ladder which seemed a bit dangerous. I had to lift our luggage myself up there.

We booked the penthouse with AC and en-suite (shower and toilet). The room was very dark and had holes everywhere, even a cat came though one of those holes in the night - not mentioning the insects and cockroaches who came to visit occasionally. The AC did not work probably and switched off ever 15 minutes itself, the shower was only dripping and the toilet would only flush every 30 minutes. Wi-Fi is bad and slow and does not work in the rooms.

Next day we walked to the beach which took us 15 minutes and another 5 to get to the nice part of the beach. They path is very remote and scary during the night.

"Fixing" the AC did take them 4 days and afterwards it was still useless due to the holes in the walls, as the heat come through them.

Overall, I cannot recommend this "hotel" for anybody who wants to relax and have a halfway decent place to stay. If you stay in Paje book a accommodation close to the Mr. Kahawa restaurant which is directly at the beach.

Room tip: If you really want to stay there take one of the rooms in the ground floor and NOT in the 1st floor/penthouse.

I stayed here for three nights and would definitely come back. Our room was basic (just beds, shelf, air conditioner and fan) but very comfortable. The air conditioner was great! We chose a room with a shared bathroom. The bathroom was always very clean and the shower was hot.

The hotels gardens have sun lounges and hammocks to relax in the shade. There is a nice pool and a bar. Beach and restaurants are a five minute walk away. Close to the Seaweed Centre.

The staff here are lovely. So helpful and friendly.

Very bad place, quite far away from all facilities mantioned, no restauratns around, you need to walk at least 10 min to find first shop with some food, same to get to the beach. We booked it for two nights and left after first, as there was a mouse or a rat in our room, which distroyed our bags. room itself, very dark, with no window, the toilet was broken. Asked the owner to compensate somehow the damage, but he simply refused. Avoid the place!

We booked last minute and were looking for something budget and it was ok for such expectations. There is a pool for plus but rooms are basic and specially upstars bungalow style are very hot with no AC. It is also few minutes walk from the beach and town proper

We booked this place as visiting travel agents, on BB, paid the same as any customer. There was a grumpy lady opening the gate, and then closing it again in our face. I had to phone the manager to be let in... Room upstairs looks nice on photos, very dark, not a comfy feeling at all. Pool dirty, around the pool, some sunbeds, no cushions. Nothing to drink, normally in Zanzibar when this is the case, someone of the staff offers to go and get you drinks, here, nothing... The next day, we asked for breakfast, that we had payed in advance 10.- USD per person, the guy around had no clue, and did nothing to enquire about it. We just left. It is cheap but there are some places as cheap that have a friendly staff and much better service! Then I wrote to the owner, no reply! No wonder... AVOID!
