Advised of 45 min wait time, & very accurate pick up time. The lamb korma was delicious & generous with amount of meat. Also had tandoori chicken with refreshing mint/ cucumber dip. All perfect for a simple Easter Sunday in Motel room after long day at Warbirds.

There was 4-star food. We only tried the yellow lentils with rice and raita (yogurt), and veggie kebabs. 1 star was taken away for the rude man manning the front counter. Greeted us with a smile, the restaurant was almost empty with only maybe 4 tables (at most) with customers. We asked what type of lentils they're serving, yellow or brown/black/green. He said with a scoff: "daal tadka is always yellow" as if we should know this (though we are Indian, sure). According to my Indian mother later, this man's belief about daal tadka "always" being yellow is not correct. Regional differences I guess. Whatevs. When we asked for a table for 2, we were told it's a 15-20 minute wait. 2/3rd of the restaurant (no joke) was empty tables. 2 waitresses service the 4 seated tables. A man manning the bar. Another manning the front greeting customers. There was a couple sitting on the waiting couches awaiting their 2-person table. After about 10 minutes, they walked out of the almost-empty restaurant. Soon thereafter, we got seated. Before we could walk out as well. I thought that perhaps there was some staffing ratio, that they'd only seat you when one of their 4 tables left... so as not to over-burden their 2 waitresses or the 3 Indian men (2 standing at the bar and 1 trying to help the 2 white waitresses). Don't know what the bar-men were doing, there was no-one seated there. Didn't see them making any fancy cocktails. Just heard them chatting to each other while making customers wait on the sofas up front, with again, empty tables all around. Not a good way to run a business when people are leaving from your waiting couches without spending any money at your establishment. The younger quieter Indian male server who was helping the waitresses was very nice, very hard working, and treated the other 2 men as his superiors. This man should be complimented however I didn't get his name.

A nice place friendly hosts and very clean and tidy. The food was good with plenty per portion but lacking in a bit of spice so order a bit hotter than you normally like. We had one starter $11, 2 main courses $26 each, beers at $8 per bottle.

We were last in Wanaka in July 2011 and we had a perfect meal then, so when we came back in March 2018 we had to go again. We were not disappointed - the Venison curry was delicious with robust flavours but our favourite was the Madras Chicken, which was delicate and every so slightly sweet. The curries here are amongst the best I have ever had and worth travelling over 5000 kms to enjoy!
