I got married at the Shangrila Fiji on September 28th with 40 of my closest friends and family. To be honest I only chose the location because the chapel is beautiful. However the chapel is even more beautiful in reality and the rest of the wedding far exceeded my expectations. The staff were divine, the wedding went seamlessly - the food and drinks were plentiful and tasty. We had the Shangrila chapel package and added a few extras - the fire dancers (worth every cent), fairy lights, a cocktail reception on the chapel lawn at sunset and we hired the PA system and played our own curated song list for dinner and dancing. My wedding planner Luse was amazing and the grounds and surrounds were beautiful. The resort itself was a bit dated and undergoing renovations which takes away from the ambience a bit although it didn't impact on my wedding at all. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We had an ocean view room and it was lovely. If you are considering a wedding at the Shangri-la don't let some of the less than enthusiastic reviews of the resort put you off. It is an amazing wedding venue and the staff do a brilliant job.

We stayed 3 nights with our 4 daughters , we had stayed over 5 years ago so wanted to see if it had improved since our last visit. The resort is large and spread out with 3 pools which includes one adults pool. Although a little tired looking they are renovating rooms so once completed I am sure it will get its full sparkle back. The main pool had been closed for renovations when we arrived but we were advised it would be open the following day by looking at it you would think not, however true to their word it was reopened the following day. There are lots of activities on offer as well as an outdoor cinema and the new water park which is popular . On the waterpark I do think they need more safety control and staff monitoring as my 12 year old daughter fell off and had her leg caught by a rope upside down and it was lucky another lovely guest helped her and not one staff member was insight. The food is very expensive for what you get so be prepared to pay top dollar. The water and views are beautiful not island life but close to it in regards to crystal clear. This resort seems great for families with younger children it did lack nightly entertainment for adults as there is really on one small bar/venue for the size of the resort. Staff are very helpful .

One of the established resorts in Fiji and has recently started a renovation program that will move the accommodation to a better specification hopefully! No that there is anything wrong with the rooms now it will just benefit from a spruce up and overhaul. This is the place to go for a totally chilled few days and there are a few restaurants that you can chose from in the resort - cautionary point though is that they do get busy and if you want a change then it is a cab ride to the nearest town at Sigatoka. Plenty to do to while away the hours though with a great gym, pools and golf. We found ourselves totally into the Fiji routine of being slow paced and happy to wait which is so different to our Melbourne lifestyle! If you are looking for nightlife and lots of food choices this will likely not work for you.

Room Tip: The rooms farthest from the main reception and pools afford the quietest options and great views of the lagoon.

Lovely staff ensure that this reasonably well appointed venue is a stand out for all the right reasons.
A hair raising “taxi” ride takes about 45 minutes to reach the resort from the Nandi Airport. However, once you have reached the resort, stress is very hard to come by.
A suitable buffet is on offer for breakfast/dinner and lunch is offered at a couple of on site venues. The offerings for lunch were ok but priced quite highly for quality as there is also a VAT tax on items which is not listed on the poolside menu.
With a good range of activities, some free, some with charges, there is a great range of choice available.
A great place to unwind. Second visit and definitely will return.

We stayed at the ShangriLa in September for 6 nights. Family of four - my husband, myself and two boys aged 12 and 9. I was a little concerned as I had read that the main lagoon pool would be closed for renovation during our stay, but I need not have worried!! The infinity pool was quite close to out room if the kids wanted to swim in the pool, but why would you with such a beautiful beach right there! Snorkelling from your doorstep, and the brand new Water Park - wow - that kept the kids busy for hours :-) We had a room that hadn't been renovated but that didn't detract at all from our experience - we were barely in the room anyway! Sue at the Bilo Bar makes the best mocktails ever, Milika looked after our room beautifully and added little touches every day with flowers and decorations which the kids just loved. We really enjoyed the Natadola Beach tour with Mun, the Takali Restaurant buffet breakfast was terrific, and you could not beat the Beach Bar & Grill for dinner. We did stock up on some soft drink and snacks on our way from the airport to help keep the costs down. It's a huge resort and we did take a couple of days to get our bearings but because it was so big it never seemed crowded and was very relaxed. It has a guest laundry which I needed with the two boys - meant I didn't have to pack quite so much as I could wash there. We have been to Fiji before and this is the 5th resort we have stayed at - and this is the one we will be heading back to. If you want a relaxed (even by Fiji standards) this is the place to go.

Room Tip: Our room was ground floor Deluxe Ocean Family near the Takali restaurant was was a perfect spot.
