Reviewed 3 April 2018

The wife and I were so impressed with every aspect of staying at this property, that's it's really difficult to know where to begin the review.
I guess it starts way back with the pre stay communication (emails) between the hotel and myself.
Many thanks to Virginia Mow, David Wells, Maca Marama, and Sarina Lanyon.
All 4 of you guys, by way of your timely emails/replies to me, were simply the start of an overall totally great stay, so Vinaka !
Driving into the property, it was very evident how well maintained the outside of the property was, but this level of maintenance also extended to the inside of the property.
There is so much garden and lawn area around the hotel (inside and out) and the grounds keepers deserve the highest congratulations for what must be a never ending job to keep the property looking as fantastic as it does.
Well done guys/girls !
We arrived quite early at the hotel, at around 0630, so we were fully expecting to have to leave our luggage there and come back later in the day to be able to check in, but this wasn't the case at all.
We were checked in and given our room straight away (which we were/are grateful for) and unlike other some other Hilton properties, weren't expected to pay a fee for early check in.
This in itself tells me that management (and staff) at Hilton Denarau are more interested in total guest experience than an opportunistic money grab, which nearly always sours from the start, what otherwise may have been a great stay.
Having done my research on the property, as one should always do before booking any hotel, i learned that the hotel is only 2 levels high, but spread out over a fair distance.
It also has a family end (starting from closest to reception) and an adults only end. (the right hand side half of the property)
As it was only the 2 of us staying, we chose to be in the adults only area, which turned out to be really peaceful and quiet.
Our room itself (4607) was very well appointed, clean, light, airy, and spacious.
It was a 1 bedroom apartment, so had a kitchenette and laundry, and we used the washing machine and clothes dryer several times which was very handy, as we were going onto Hawaii after our Fiji stay, so we were able to take 100% clean clothes with us.
I was particularly impressed with the dual vanity, the freestanding bath tub, the HUGE walk in shower, the brilliant job that Housekeeping did on the specially folded towel left in the room each day, and the fact that complimentary Peter Thomas Roth toiletries for 2 people were replenished in our room daily, by a great housekeeping team who should be proud of their work.
Our room was beach/ocean front/facing, and had a good sized balcony with a table and chairs where we could sit late afternoon and watch magical sunsets.
As I mentioned, the property is spread out over a fair distance, but there is very regular Bula Express buses (more like a multi seat long golf cart than an actual bus) that take guests from one end to the other, with lots of stops along the way.
There will be a bus stop within a few steps of your room, and you never wait very long at all.
The adults only section of the hotel has a restaurant and pools just as the family section does.
Breakfast and dinner at the adults only end is at the Koro restaurant, which has both inside and outside tables.
The outside tables are by the pool, and is a beautiful spot to have your breakfast or dinner.
You will be looking across the pool at the beautiful blue and green waters of the ocean as you tuck into an excellent buffet breakfast.
Life just doesn't get any better !
At this point, I need to mention that whilst we interacted with a number of staff during our stay, ALL of who were always smiling, super nice, and really friendly, I have to single out 3 of them for special mention. (in no particular order)
Luisa (at Koro) was a young lady who was our main waitress most mornings, and on morning 1, our first interaction with her, she greeted us with a nervous but infectious smile, and looked after us brilliantly.
As each morning went by, and she became more familiar with us, there was a lot more casual chat between us, and by the time we left, we felt that we had made a new friend.
It takes a special kind of hotel employee to make a guest feel that way, so to that end, Luisa deserves every accolade possible.
I hope the hotel management team have taken the time to read my privately submitted feedback on Luisa, and tangibly recognise what a valuable asset they have in her !
2 other employees I need to mention are Mereani (also in Koro - F&B), and Tui, the guy who looks after the pool at Koro.
Mereani was always happy and smiling (genuinely so) and greeted us each morning more like family than guests.
Tui was a great guy who I struck up a conversation with at breakfast on day 1, and from that point on, he called me by name.
I really like the fact that a hotel employee can remember a guests name and calls them by their name each time they see them.
Tui also had a great sense of humour, and we had a few good laughs, so were more like buddies by the time we left.
As regular guests at hotels (Hilton properties and others) worldwide, we know how rare it is to find 100% genuine friendliness and hospitality, but the world needs to know that they will find it at this property, Hilton Denarau !
Even what might be considered small things were done so well here.
From Bula Express drivers stopping to ask if you needed a lift even when you're in between bus stops, to F&B staff asking if you needed a coffee or juice refill when they saw your cup/glass empty, to management ensuring that Hilton Honors status members felt recognised and valued, by leaving gifts for then in their room each day.
It was our very first visit to Fiji, and we consider ourselves lucky to have stayed at Hilton Denarau.
Lucky, because the hotel and staff left such an impression on us, that I am quite eagerly singing the praises of the hotel (and the country) to all my family and friends, (which include regular world travellers and Travel Agents) and we now very much look forward to returning to Fiji, and again staying at Hilton Denarau of course !
A short 4.5 hour flight from Melbourne to Nadi means that we can travel there, even for just a weekend, which we will most definitely do, and soon !

Thank you Hilton Denarau for a great stay.

You guys are the epitome of what Fiji is known for !

Room Tip: Choose the adults only end if you aren't staying with kids. Very quiet !

The Hilton Fiji Beach Resort made our honeymoon very special. We were welcomed by extremely helpful and friendly staff and instantly offered an upgrade. The room was well appointed, extremely comfortable, had a lovely view and was close to all the resort's amenities.
The restaurants were all great value, serving delicious and varied food, with wonderfully friendly staff, who all remembered our names and addressed us personally. Mere, Larraine and Nisi all treated us so well and went out of their way to make us feel very special. We were sad to say good bye to them when we left.
The pools at the resort were relaxing and beautifully landscaped. We would choose to visit this resort again next time we visit Fiji.
On the downside, avoid buying souvenirs from the poolside village market. You can getter cheaper & better quality souvenirs from Jacks at Port Denarau.

Room Tip: Choose a beach or garden view room upstairs and close to the amenities. Koro rooms are too far away from the main amenities.

Stayed at hilton during the tropical cyclone josie pass nearby. Lots of inconveniences to the service and facilities. Despite of some housekeeping issues, and the manager helen was way too busy to discuss any solution apparently, overall was a good experience. Laisa, who works at the restaurant is exceptional. Despite all the things that went wrong during our stay, she managed to change our overall experience with Hilton Fiji Denarau. Her smile and her great attitude toward us and other guests was indeed exceptional. Thank you for making our stay at Hilton Denarau a pleasant experience.

Bula Hariwib,

Many thanks for your positive review despite the extremely challenging circumstances at the resort during and following cyclone Josie yesterday. We apologise that we were unable to offer the full resort experience immediately following cyclone Josie.

It certainly was a difficult day with limited team and resort services available. The widespread flooding of western Fiji left the resort completely isolated with no team members able to come in as scheduled after 5am yesterday. The resort normally needs 550 team members to operate at full occupancy 24/7, and yesterday we managed to get through with just 85 team members on-site working very long shifts.

Thank you so much for recognizing Laisa in the restaurant. We are fortunte to have many team members who provide genuine caring hospitality even during difficult circumstances. I will be sure to pass on your feedback.

Fortunately the floods are receding and we have more team members here today to look after out guests. Things are returning to normal at the resort.

Thank you again.

Super nice rooms with super friendly staff! The facility is conveniently located close to port denarau, has a decent gym and some very nice pools. It is located on a beach, but not a great one. The restaurants are good for breakfast but overpriced for dinner.
