“A very well equipped cabin in a wonderful location”
Reviewed 20 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The booking process and the communication with the owner were very straightforward. The cabin was spacious for two people, had everything we needed and was very comfortable and warm. We loved the location within easy walking distance of A, and very quiet even during high season. The amazing variety of wild flowers in the area was a highlight for us and our most memorable day trip was to take the ferry from Reine to VIndstad, walk along the fjord and over the ridge to Bunes beach. Magic!

Management Response
6 Jul 2016
Dear Damien,

Thank you for your valuable feedback. I must appologise if the Kitchen was not to your standards and in a clean condition when you arrived.

It is of course our intention that the place shall be clean when you arrive. As for the smell of fish, this is something which can be difficult to remove in a short time if the guests staying in the cabin before you have handeled fish in the cabin just before your arrival. Also, in the cod drying season, there is fish hanging all around the harbour, that also brings a smell to the entire harbour, but this soft outdoor odour lessens over the summer. After this season, we will evaluate whether we should make cleaning included in the rental, so there is a consistent standard, and no need to remind the guests of their cleaning responsibility if they have chosen to do this themselves.

We are hoping to bring internet to the cabin after this summer season is over and therefore ,we have not advertised this property with internet Access.

Thank you for visiting, and we hope you enjoy your summer.

Best regards
Gunnar

“Lovely cabin in a nice situation but slightly under-equipped”

The cabin in located in the harbour in Tind, near the end of the E10 and within walking distance of both Å and Sørvågen. The location is very handy for going out in the evening (I can recommend the Maren Anna in Sørvågen), given Norway's zero-tolerance approach to alcohol and driving, not to mention for the many great walks to be done from Sørvågen.

The cabin itself is attractive and comfortable with some entertaining touches, and has a good set of appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and two-ring hob). The bedroom has a comfortable bed and both curtains and blinds (essential in 24-hour daylight!).

The one let-down is a very limited set of kitchen equipment - we were constantly washing cutlery, there was no kettle and we had to be a little creative with cooking. This is unfortunate, given the expense of eating out in Norway.

The owners are very good at responding to communications promptly and helpfully (in - to the English-speaking - embarrassingly excellent English), and the lady who looks after the cabin day to day is also a cheerful and helpful soul.

Thank you for your nice feedback, and we are really happy you enjoyed your stay in our cabin. Also, thank you for the advice on the kitchen equipment. We will make sure that we will add sufficient and additional cutlery, pots etc. very soon, so one can fill the dish washer before running it.

“A perfect cabin in a perfect place”

Visiting Lofoten was for a long-time just an aspiration for us, and we have found Tind as a perfect base for making it real: it's a calmer place than Reine or Å, and conveniently located for walking, trekking in the mountains, or as a base for travelling by car around Moskenessoya and Flakstadoya.

Norway is terribly expensive, but we think that this cabin offers good value: it's extremely well-equipped, and the owner, Gunnar, has been really patient and helpful with all our questions. We have felt there so at ease as at our own home. Thanks a lot, and we hope coming back again!
